  1. Cool! I remember somebody looking for one of these clips a while back.
  2. It was also on Craigslist I believe for $7950 or something like that.
  3. Grimace is an excellent name for that truck! lol. Love it.
  4. That's the same seller as one of the trucks I posted. Nice Bronco though. I can sit and drool at the lack of rust no matter what the condition of the vehicle is.
  5. Like anything else I'm sure they have a lifespan. We did actually have a problem with the installation, but it was nothing to do with the seat heater itself. The guy that put it in the seat left the wire kind of loose under the seat and one of them chafed through a bracket and shorted out. I fixed it quickly and that was it.
  6. I had one of these kits installed in the driver's seat of a 2007 Honda Civic my wife had for a while. It worked well while we had the car...which was only 3-4 years. Had a local Autoglass shop install it oddly enough...it was next to where my wife was working at the time. There was nothing special about the kit...I remember looking at the exact one on Amazon at the time.
  7. Gary, Thanks for the pics. I'm going to share with him tomorrow and see if it helps.
  8. Gary, Does the MPC have diagrams back that far similar to what is available for the Bullnose era? A picture of the front wheel hub and spindle area would be helpful for 1948 trucks and also 1956. It might help confirm what exactly he has. The car one would be good too, but he thinks the spindles are from 1948, which is prior to your MPC. If you want to move the discussion off the forum that is fine too. Also curious what the bolt pattern was for the wheels on the 50's Ford trucks.
  9. Gentlemen, Trying to help my brother in law find some parts and/or information. He's looking for front hubs for this car, but what what exactly he has now is not known for certain. The car is a 1932 Ford that was presumably modified/hotrodded sometime in the 1960's. He thinks that the front axle is original, but he thinks that the spindles are 1948. They apparently have a square mounting flange if that means anything. The drums and backing plates, wheel cylinders, etc he believes are from 1953-1960 Ford F1 (or F100?) pickup. He is looking for a set of hubs for this thing, but he's not sure what the existing hubs came from. They are apparently 5x4.5 bolt pattern, and he has the wheel bearing and seal numbers and sizes, but not the Ford part numbers. Anybody know where to look for information on this stuff to try and identify exactly what is installed? Somebody to call? He says he has found some hubs online, but they have 5x5.5 bolt pattern, and his are 5x4.5, so not sure what/where his hubs came from. He can measure what he has, and he knows the bearing and seal sizes, but that's about it. Any words of wisdom?
  10. Ha! I saw the guys on FB talking about this truck and a guy that is local to the truck said it was for sale recently for $1500! I guess the seller got a great deal on it. I certainly have no need for an 8-lug 4x4 with a 460, but for $1500 bucks I'd "need" one...lol.
  11. Ok, I ended up buying it. After a nights sleep and your comments I decided to grab it. To be honest it had kinda fallen off my radar as I moved on to other things. I went out and looked at the existing bracket some more and figured that it would be nice to get rid of that. I had already hacked the smog pump portion of it off, but it's still not a pretty piece by any means. Thanks for being a fan of the truck Rick...lol. Truth be told, I think you'd probably be disappointed if you ever saw it in person. It's not as nice as it looks in the pictures. It's nice for around here, but it no way would compare with a southern truck. I will be taking it to some shows this summer, but it was never really supposed to be a show truck. It was only meant to be a nice cruiser. The frame is the biggest eyesore on the truck. It was rusty and I cleaned it up and painted it, but it still looks like a rusty frame that was painted. In any case, thanks for the heads up on this Rick. I've been stealing some of your ideas, like the 5.0 GT air cleaner and valve covers, etc. Now the ALT bracket. I also just noticed something else in your pictures. The valve in the heater core hose...is that something you added or was that an option with AC in 1985? I am working on getting the parts to install factory AC and I was thinking of just putting a manual valve there to shut off in the summer.
  12. That "19" habit is hard to break, isn't it?... I've been doing it too. The Bronco is back on Ebay as well. It was missing for a little while but showed up again a couple weeks ago. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254487501232
  13. I believe that exhaust is stock. We were talking about it on a previous 1986 F250 w/460. Somebody said...Gary I assume...that sometime during the 1985 model year the 460 got dual downpipes to the muffler, and then a single outlet? http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/1986-F250-4x4-29k-original-miles-on-Ebay-in-Florida-tp43765.html
  14. I thought that tailgate looked out of place but wasn't sure. Since my truck is plain and the one I had years ago was plain, I know nothing about the various trim packages.
  15. Another one this week with the same colors;) The mileage is listed as being 13420, not sure if accurate or not, but the truck certainly is in nice condition. This one might break $10,000? https://www.ebay.com/itm/193252596137
  16. Got it. Thanks! I have it saved for now. I've got so many things on my Bullnose want list I had long forgotten about this. Now you've got me interested again. This forum is getting expensive for me...lol.
  17. Ain't that the truth! That truck is jacked! Looks good.
  18. Oh, sorry...my bad. I forgot you had posted a picture earlier on. Thanks. Does it take the same size belt as stock or did you have to get a shorter one?
  19. Welcome aboard Chopperdriver. I am no help for the 300 inline 6 issues, but I wanted to mention that 3 on the tree. Are you planning on keeping it? If yes, make sure you look after that column. Most of the shifter parts for it are long obsolete and there are no replacements available. There are a couple 'work arounds', but as a rule of thumb, the shift collar is a known weak point and it is common for them to crack/break. Keep an eye out for spare parts for it;). I had one myself but swapped it out for a 5spd. In any case, good luck with the 300/6. There are some experts on here that will help you get it sorted.
  20. Rick, Thanks! Do you have any pictures of yours installed? Just curious where your heater core hoses are sitting?
  21. Is that everything that is required? I've seen the miscellaneous parts available over the years but have never seen them all in one place together.
  22. The frame in my '84 was not pretty. I was going to have it sand blasted, but I decided on a different approach. I cleaned mine with wire cup wheels on angle grinders, and then just regular wire wheels in a hand drill in some spots. I got it as clean as possible. I cleaned the grease and dirt and crap off of it with brake cleaner and lacquer thinner in the tougher spots. I then applied Ospho Rust Treatment by hand (with a brush) and really soaked it down. You can see below how it all turned white on the residual rust that was remaining...and was dripping on the floor. http://www.ospho.com/ I let that dry for 24 hours, and then primed with a rust primer. And then sprayed gloss black rust paint, and so far it has been standing up pretty well. Would I have liked to strip the frame bare and have it sand blasted? Absolutely. However, time and space, etc was a problem for me. I did the best I could with what I had to work with. PS: Just to add, I painted with a paint gun, and had to really thin out the rust paint to get it to spray at all. The good news was that it went on good and thick...I didn't really have much choice. However, it seems to be a nice hard coating yet it is flexible enough to have no problems on the frame.
  23. I agree. I'd buy a truck like that very quickly if it were closer. As it stands, this truck would cost me more to get it here than the sell price of it.
  24. The gear ratio options you mentioned are available as are many others, assuming you have an 8.8 diff, which would have been standard in a 1984 2x4 short bed. I believe there are also 3.27 and 3.31 ratios available, and then many more above the ones you noted. I seem to recall reading somewhere along the way that the 8.8 diff did not have a carrier break, but somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.
