  1. Wow! I’m surprised at the difference. I didn’t think it would be that noticeable on a video on my ipad. Sounds good!
  2. That Klein looks nice. I’ve used Fluke meters on aircraft, sometimes you needed the quality, sometimes just checking continuity and voltage I liked analog meters, because the Flukes would automatically change ranges and you would think you had a bad wire or connection. Interesting, never used one of these tools.
  3. Sounds like a good idea! That tool looks good and had some good reviews, but for what you’re doing, I bet it’s frustrating.
  4. Never used one. Are you trying to find the wires in a bundle? If so, hook the red wire of a DVM to the wire you want and ground the black wire of the DVM to a metal bench or vise etc. Then ground the wires on the other end of the bundle till you find it. Aircraft wires can be long and buried in bundles, my old boss had a 50’ wire he would use to check continuity from the front of airplanes to the back. A very good avionics tech taught me to do what I explained above. Just check the wire at both ends to make sure it isn’t grounded. If I was alone I would use the diode function in the meter so it would beep. My boss never liked that, always got his 50’ wire out.
  5. I have the 86 on CD, but often times I like the paper manual. It’s nice to have the CD when I’m in the house, also I have it on my phone and tablet for traveling.
  6. Oh jeez! My bad. I saw the two body manuals but didn’t catch that the engine was medium duty. Thanks Gary!
  7. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334040059041?fits=Year%3A1986%7CModel%3AF-250%7CMake%3AFord&hash=item4dc656cca1:g:L8IAAOSwQXBan4xl Here’s a Dave Graham CD, they’re going up in price and I haven’t seen the on RA for awhile.
  8. https://www.ebay.com/itm/324667306529?hash=item4b97adf221:g:drAAAOSwQHtgv9q1#shpCntId They’re in Canada, also a good price to the US even with shipping.
  9. I don’t run any coolant in the overflow tank or catch can as I’m prone to calling it. I run the coolant in the radiator about an inch down from the neck. Works good for me.
  10. The fuel pump should come once you start cranking the engine and stay on with oil pressure IIRC. I wouldn’t think your carb is draining, I think it’s cold and didn’t stay running. How is your choke adjustment?
  11. I have definitely done that. Seems this Ford truck likes to do that to me. I wouldn’t use a bleed port because it’s another place to leak. I’ve filled the radiator to close to the neck then run it, just fill enough to keep it about there. Then I drive it a bit, let it cool check it, then drive again maybe 1 or 2 more times. Then a long drive. I think the best way to bleed coolant systems is to drive it.
  12. I remember someone saying he had Ray’s old truck, must have been on here. But I don’t remember anymore about it.
  13. Used my truck and U Haulem tow dolly to tow my sons beemer to the shop. Said shop put a new radiator in my Bronco last week. Nice Champion aluminum 4 row. New hoses. Got a Marti report for my truck and Bronco. Found out my Bronco has super cooling. Glad I got those reports, they’re pretty cool.
  14. Just so happens I received that catalog the other day. It does make sense with bigger tires. My thought on bump steer is that something is wrong. Could be a sales pitch, but some of it does make sense. Now if I had one on my Bronco I might think differently with it’s short wheelbase. I feel my super cab long bed with what, a 155” wheelbase, just takes care of a lot of things.
  15. I replaced shock on a Suburban we had years ago and set them against the wall to get rid of later. One went down by itself! I guess it was time!
  16. Interesting! Be good to hear your thoughts. I never heard they were to reduce wear.
  17. Nice shape! I didn’t catch the dash cover. Didn’t know to look for that actually. Thought it was interesting that the passenger end of the dash was cracked but not the speaker grille.
  18. I'm going for more of a grunter than a screamer. I doubt I'll spin it past 5k, but the torque should slow earths rotation if I launch towards the east! It’s science!
  19. I drove my 94 F250 with a 460 to Illinois back when the prices of gas were pushing $4. A friend of my brother in law saw my Oregon plates and asked if I drove it here. I said yes, just doing my part to help the economy. He says yeah, but you don’t have to do it by yourself!
  20. My truck had one on it when I bought it. It was worn out. I took it off and haven’t noticed anything. The first owner towed and hauled RV’s, I’m assuming that’s why it was there. To stop the “death wobble”. My thought is if you have a truck that wobbles that bad when you brake, you need a bigger truck or a lighter load.
