  1. Good job! Not laughing, it’s way better than I can do. As Matt said, good job saving it.
  2. https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/carson-city-1981-ford-f150/7456662194.html Oops! Fixed the link for the one in Nevada.
  3. https://klamath.craigslist.org/cto/d/klamath-falls-classic-truck/7456702400.html Not much info or pictures, but a great paint scheme!
  4. Confetti, nice tires! Mark, nice, that’s a good feeling for it to start and run like that!
  5. I guess I’m confused. $22,000.00 and the tranny doesn’t work?!
  6. I have NAPA gas magnums, which are Monroe’s. I like them. My truck had Rancho’s on it when I bought it. Didn’t realize how worn out they were till the new ones were put on. Rides nice for a 4WD F250 of our era! I have them on my truck, Bronco and Suburban.
  7. The 86 EVTM calls it an ECA, Electronic Control Assembly, when describing the EEC-IV system.
  8. Nice! Man, that’s light even for a short bed truck camper. Especially with all those amenities. I’m interested to see how it works for you. I have never even considered a SB camper for a LB truck. Keep your tailgate on and you have a porch!
  9. I thought I had replied to this! I don’t think limited slip will help keep it straight on acceleration. My Bronco has limited slip and if it breaks loose on ice or packed snow it will go sideways, I usually have to let off to get it straightened up. I also think the short wheelbase helps it come around quicker. About a month ago I was driving the Bronco and locked the hubs before I left. The roads as I left town were patchy packed snow. The roads were all packed snow sooner than I thought they would be. But I still thought I had miles to go before I would need 4WD. Then I noticed the back end moving around, engaged the transfer case and it straightened up. That’s what straightens up my Bronco, 4WD.
  10. Come on out and we'll go. That is a cool article! I’d like to see that museum.
  11. The 1974 F250 I used own had a 390, C6 and the PO had a limited slip put in the rear. When we had snow I hated stop lights, take me forever to get going. Sometimes I just had to chain up. At least I didn’t do the one wheel peel! I like my 4WD’s!
  12. https://klamath.craigslist.org/cto/d/klamath-falls-1983-ford-f250-xlt/7454425687.html Looks pretty good! Interesting graphics!
  13. You almost have to call this camper Bullwinkle! Might need that thread to report on your “new” one.
  14. Just rereading this. I like to pull vacuum for a long time. I think it’s beneficial for the long run.
  15. I believe Cory means through or inside the shaft with a long punch etc.
  16. Good eye! Also the fuel filter and up front where you service the oil, show it’s a turbo IDI.
  17. Good question! I don’t have an answer, but an observation if you will. My 1992 Bronco has a 6300 GVWR. Hopefully someone has a similar truck to yours and can tell you their GVWR.
  18. We often joke on free shipping on high priced items, but I contacted the seller as to why they did not ship to California, Oregon and Washington. They quickly replied that shipping has gotten so expensive people are upset about the cost. And they are shipping from Ohio. I was afraid of that. I bought a part for our Suburban that is not heavy and shipping was $24.39 from Pennsylvania. Something to watch for.
  19. Turns out this wire is somewhere between #11 & #12. So I grabbed a #12-10 ring tongue terminal. But it was not a nice tight fit on the wire. And while a #16-14 terminal was a nice fit, the material of the ring was a lot thinner. So I went with the #12-10 terminal and crimped it on. But I wasn't really satisfied with it, so I soldered it in. And I was surprised that the solder, which was applied to the end of the wire wicked through the terminal - as you can see on the pic below on the left. The pic on the right shows the other side of the terminal with the crimp, and the picture below shows how I support soldered joints with adhesive-lined heat shrink. Went right through! A bit surprising. Looks nice and professional though!
