  1. Cool! I've only used sideband in the past five years or so. I've had a CB in every car or truck I have owned since I was 16. I think I have my old CB FCC license somewhere. I took the CB out of my truck. May put one back in. The day I did put it in, after I was done with the SWR, I was switching through the channels and picked up a bunch of traffic. Went in the garage and got on my Cobra Base and we had some good skip. Talked to someone in Ohio and Tennessee from here in southern Oregon. I hope I wasn't sounding like an "expert", because I'm not. Just always had fun with them and even used them for work. white knite, I was thinking of getting a whip antenna. Great, now I'll be researching that and ordering an antenna and...
  2. Cool! I've got a Cobra 148 sideband and a President, I think, Grant, mobile sideband. I have a Cobra sideband base. And a President Lincoln II 10 meter, mobile. It also has the 11 meter band. And I rarely use them, hardly anybody on CB's around here. Got my HAM license and the 10 meter thinking that's where people are, but, nope.
  3. I'm sorry, not clear on that. I would say look them over closely, as Steve83 said on replacing parts, don't replace unnecessarily. I was reporting which brand and grease I used. I should have caught that mine were bad, I feel.
  4. My Bronco was getting noisy, checked the bearings, I think twice. They seemed fine. Started hearing noises like bearings going out and the right front was close to welding itself to the axle. Went to NAPA and got their good bearings and some fresh bearing grease, nothing fancy, just good old bearing grease. Just got back from a 800 mile trip. Man it was a pleasant drive, quiet and smooth. Just had to battle some packed snow and ice. The Bronc done good!
  5. Wow! Good info.. I ended up tapping a washer under the cap with a hammer to tighten it up until I get more serious. This will help!
  6. It's also nice having the little blue arrows under the links to hide it. I should have said I was on a site that had a button to click, under the links, the links would auto hide and it seemed like every time I went to hit that button the links would pop up and send me to FB, twitter or whatever. Can't remember which site, guess I haven't been back!
  7. I don't care for those links being there, never liked them, probably never will. As Reamer said, I don't care for all the interconnection. I'm a small town guy, if I want the big city, I'll drive there! This is not meant to be negative or a complaint, just my opinion.
  8. That's the way it is! But, thanks to this site and other knowledgeable people out there, We can know that the AOT and AOD are the same. Probably not worth the trouble for Ford to change the MPC.
  9. Seems the same. Good to me, especially if it makes things easier for you. Edit: Real easy to print from the Word Online Doc.!
  10. It says new, but that socket doesn't look too new. Is that the grease or whatever it is Ford puts in their connectors?
  11. I think it's good for the things I would do. i.e. make it bigger (full screen), copy it, save it to my computer, scrolling.
  12. Welcome! Went to tech. school at NAS Millington as a young Marine learning how to work on helicopters.
  13. But, doesn't that Aeronose look like it's having fun!
  14. Not much snow to speak of here in Minnesota (about 4" on Monday), but we've got the cold! Tuesday was -50 F windchill (and the temp was still dropping when I heard that, so it might have gone lower). Then it was -31 F actual temp this morning (thankfully a lot less wind). My '97 wouldn't start this morning, and I can't hook jumper cables to my wife's '18 Jeep Renegade, so I fired up the '71 Bronco to jump the pickup (too much salt on the roads and too little insurance on the Bronco to just drive it!) "so I fired up the '71 Bronco to jump the pickup (too much salt on the roads and too little insurance on the Bronco to just drive it!)" I sure wouldn't drive that baby in the salt!
