  1. Looks like fun! Edit: Took me a while to find the "Message is in HTML Format" tick. Thought it must be near that danged "710" hole!
  2. I think Gary nailed it, although I have had trouble getting these to shift if there is any "load" on the driveline. i.e. if you're in neutral and you let off the brake and the truck will roll, it may be difficult to shift past 4Hi. On inclines I have shifted as I let off the brake.
  3. Welcome! Nice looking truck. I had to do a lot of work to my Bullnose, and one item was the 4180 carb.. I ended up putting a new one on. Also rejetted it for the elevation in Klamath Falls. What was really nice was all the linkage hooked right up. Very happy with it. Here's what I got: https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/classic_holley/parts/0-80457SA

  5. If it is the stock distributor, the cap should be held in place by the straps, and I don't think it should be loose.
  6. Wow! Good work! Nice tool! I had a bad u joint on my Bronco's rear drive shaft, the double Cardan Joint. Talked to my old mechanic and he said just get a rebuilt one from a parts store, they're a pain. He was swamped. Nobody had one, and none listed anywhere. Took it to a local driveline shop, they finished it that afternoon for $110.00, painted and all. I was happy. Instead of fighting it, next bad u joint, and the drive shaft goes there!
  7. No, I skimmed that article and noticed several "opinions" on the size. I seem to remember having clips like the kind you're looking for, that were a little too big. And I think I was able to file down the part that touched in the middle and get them to fit. HTH!
  8. Those C Clips are hard to find all right. Found this: https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-133042-dana-30-dana-44-u-joint-spicer-5-760x.html And may want to read this, some possible substitutes: https://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1057387 I wouldn't think they would be hard to find. If some one has that Dorman kit local, you may be able to make that work.
  9. Gary, I already have the electronic output module that goes into the trans as I was going to use it for an aftermarket cruise control anyway. I had already confirmed that it will work perfectly for what I wanted to use it for, but this Ford kit came up and it is pretty cheap, so if it were to work, I'd grab it. I thought the speed sensor for 92-96 was on the rear diff., if that matters. Doesn't look like what I have on my 1986, but perhaps you could make it work.

  11. Well, not a class, but a feature... A guy I used to work with "duallied" a Suburban. I agree, why?
  12. I don't think it's too high for the area. Seems that everyone wants $3500 for 4x4's around here, in spite of the condition. I have seen some ridiculous prices around here though i.e. https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/d/medford-1989-f250-xlt-4x4-94k/6827456704.html I had a bricknose, but don't really like the looks of them. Sometimes I think of selling things and getting one like this, https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/d/portland-2000-ford-250-xlt-4x4-super/6808404556.html I think that's a little high, but can't argue the condition.

  14. I think it's pretty safe to assume if there's a rear swaybar then there should be a front bar? I don't think vehicles ever got just a rear bar did they? It was either a front only, or both front and rear? I'm certainly no expert on the topic, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. It's got a wild looking exhaust on it with the cat hanging down below the driver's side exhaust manifold. I assume that was part of the California emissions? Or was that a standard item location in 1980? This would be one to jump in and drive, a lot!
  15. I had the auto-locking hubs on a 1995 F150 4x4 that I owned briefly back in the later 90's, and I destroyed one of them...or both of them...I can't remember now. I had gotten the truck stuck while in 2wd, and then put it into 4x4 without having the ability to roll the truck ahead or back, and when I started spinning again I heard a bang from the front. I installed a set of Warn manual hubs after that. Nice! I have auto locking hubs on my Bronco. I like them.
