  1. For my son's truck, the cloudy blue filters were removed and 194B bulbs installed. It turned out nicely and is easily seen at night. I believe it accomplishes what Ford wanted to do with the blue filters. Previously, I have mentioned that I found a dash in a medium duty truck which has crystal clear [non cloudy] light green filters. I showed them to some members at this year's OK GTG. If anyone wants to try something different, they are yours just for the postage. And, if you plan to attend next year's OK GTG, bring me an old license plate [wall art] and I will be happy!

I have a pair of used ones which anyone can have. You pay the freight and if you plan to go to the OK GTG next September, bring me an old license plate and I will be very happy!
  3. The bottom photograph shows the chrome knob... looks like the ones used for ventilation controls.
  4. Not too very long ago [10 years?], gasoline sold by the name brand stations here in the Southeast, had a $0.10 per gallon cost increase for each higher grade of gasoline. This had been the practice for years. Keep in mind that the different octane gasoline sold at the pump is accomplished by blending, either at the refinery, the distribution point or at the station. For example, 87 octane was $2.50, 89 octane was $2.60 [+4%] and premium was $2.70 [+3.8%]per gallon. I will highlight in bold the approximate percentage increase. When gasoline prices neared the $4 mark, the difference between each grade increased to $0.25. The blending was still the same. When prices peaked, 87 octane was @ $4.25, 89 octane was $4.50 [+5.9%] and premium was $4.75 [+5.6%]. When the gasoline prices fell back to the currently lower prices, the grade level increases remained at +$0.25. Keep in mind, the blending practices are still the same. Currently, 87 octane is $2.12, 89 octane is $2.37 [+11.8%] and premium is $2.62 [+10.5%] per gallon. Just thinking.
  5. At that price, Jonathan, the one that was included with your NOS XLS instrument bezel was "free"!
  6. Jonathan does not need this part, but he does have a NOS original switch, if anyone has questions about it.

  9. Well, I have a theory. Perhaps the assembly plan was such that the trucks [minus interior] were assembled in mass, awaiting final assembly instructions. The trucks might have needed the steering wheel assembly to be attached to aid moving the partially built trucks? If so, all could be made black and then the colored [upgraded] interiors could be installed. This also would streamline the parts inventory.

  13. Didn't Mr. NumberDummy recently post that one way for a solution to this is to find a later model [2008?]Ford Van [E250 or E350?] and take the wheel and possibly tires? I believe he said the bolt pattern was the same [not metric].
  14. Jonathan, where are those located? Not for me, but someone else might want to know.
  15. As always, your work and reporting are impressive, Jonathan!

  17. Sorry, Jim, I do not. If you remember [years ago], the one I found for you [rear] was at a shop and was being used to store lug nuts! This one is pretty, but pricy!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-78-94-Ford-Truck-4x4-Dog-Dish-Hubcap-Pickup-Four-Wheel-3-4-1-Ton-F250-F350/302537008954?hash=item46709c673a:g:t-oAAOSwpDdVB1iG&vxp=mtr https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/t-oAAOSwpDdVB1iG/s-l1600.jpg
  18. And what is parked behind your garage? And I am not talking about the boat, Chevy P/U or lawn mower!
  19. Rock Auto shows this: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=346518&cc=1120598&jsn=573 Says there is only 1 remaining. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1983,f-100,3.8l+232cid+v6,1120598,cooling+system,radiator+lower+hose,2057
  20. Jonathan, I am glad the air cleaner worked for your truck!
