As I drove to work, this morning, I asked myself the question listed in the subject line, above. The answer is: it is so pleasing to feel the very flat torque characteristics, every time you go through the gears. Quiet and unobtrusive. Walk softly and carry a big six!

Horn pads...
1986F150Six replied to 1986F150Six's topic in eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, & Kijiji Finds
Thanks for asking. Gary knows me well and also knows I have a "gift" of remembering that someone was looking for something as I "chase rabbit trails". I enjoy the "hunt." The "top one" also has free shipping! Try: Ford woodgrain horn pads. -
See if you can find something, here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1980,f-150,4.9l+300cid+l6,1121128,belt+drive,belt,8900

This is advertised as being for horn bars; perhaps it can give ideas for other dash parts/bezels. It is interesting and thought provoking. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-1979-Ford-Lincoln-Mercury-Steering-Wheel-Horn-Pad-Wood-Grain-Repair-Kit/143122788145?fits=Year%3A1978%7CMake%3AFord&hash=item2152c86f31:g:WxMAAOSwm79cf8kX

The other day, someone was searching for a wood grain pad with cruise control. Their pad was in poor condition and they were looking for an "upgrade". https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-1986-Ford-F150-F250-STEERING-WHEEL-HORN-PAD/293133727806?hash=item444021b83e:g:xyEAAOSwc95dE3d1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-1986-Ford-F150-Bronco-Horn-Pad-Wood-Grain-W-Cruise/163709264044?hash=item261dd520ac&enc=AQADAAAC4FjVrDbVsZ8oH%2F8PNHtt9VX4%2Fw7FZcmMuqsX8uaFEduVzSbtxmVPtUEKFMJpjQgnBfmNe81qpQdLwMG9wk0PE25Ru7xGv9hk0UXB%2B69RgColsbQ5O2qss4L%2FFzIdZ4xfycrLoCFJgxFxFQ6VUxTNd%2FDj4FMy%2BfnpQOfS36U7TEXmTNKzbLDxJ7y2gqGnpxLRnxofFJ8w1NPw%2FE9xj3A%2FBmkCnWViIs6MT3nRZJ3iljNXVZMFdV8VITAQzAbrSu1pvC8qa8xjbfoUO3TQC%2F9wPjUMaAq0ojxyDDfeivfHMFAFFctKKGgb3PHLQJ%2F8SuOZM2Cec8idrAlzpffQ7zH2RCsl7qA7rLuB8ppQt6%2BmlZN1BANj50J5eSWGL3AyJ0RwsuXjHl3Kl%2FivN7qObJGOAPiioL5L3JFUgbF09QrF33%2FpRRzqrVyzhgCiwOYgEgXz1HXsrJTeBDxpfRYy1CFYZVooVAaq3swNueOwLXP6y5pJzx9uvxWZvKvFj9aBusuXuH3rgnCo0%2BsejiKKF5TtHibbRpeCYzWu9Gq0OLoTLkL9KExTgxdqrh9%2FtEq4iACgwhW9QZdssMMXHQJcPdVXojXBnEGXUxDoYf%2BgiY7yjxdlezPB2moTK7QGZYPrRnMTH0BKTI%2FJDcWuqqWVpgKHADxxgb1KZl6kMz%2BOWrkUzw6SRWvKu49HmuKHpPQfpV3EGQadgJcCygBILl%2FAiKGOUtmGx34c9MkPNgNS5ZaIxGjh5ElVVxL%2FgkkKICU6Zg3wVHuvAQPetir6d2T9RQqevPg1sCTppV5Tphqm77%2BGKD5Ip3ARYzrg2Sg%2BZjCAbTeliA7DRC0qLfrgfhWv9ykmyRZEKM%2FpDW3FIQGFnhaUxbL2g8xmts6zNsGOcNRO%2Bh4xV0%2FewocUFKGbxYiOFvhANlpfc2bsfKmNR9HSAZ%2B0IC%2BfAVJlcuqslXXpLGPmhGVZJoM1zUZg3nOMh4%2BJTpGqC7A%3D&checksum=163709264044618e656d5a9f4e3693e6e5920b3ea864 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-1986-Ford-F150-Bronco-Horn-Pad-Wood-Grain-W-Cruise/163709264044?hash=item261dd520ac:g:XCQAAOSwfQhc7IcF

The Truck of Doom: An Occasional Build Thread
1986F150Six replied to Dorsai's topic in Bullnose Enthusiasts Forum
If there's going to be a problem, I think it will be with the spring eventually breaking where it hooks into the track, due to either rust or vibration. You could take a short piece of small diameter vacuum tubing and slip over the end of the spring, where it inserts into the seat track. -

Blue "A" pillar trim [used]
1986F150Six replied to 1986F150Six's topic in eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, & Kijiji Finds
I do not have my truck here to compare, but some "A" pillar trim would be for no padded headliner. There is a difference, I believe. The advertisement states that this came from a Lariat model, so I would guess with a padded headliner. Can anyone verify this?
