Gas mileage comparison data...

Gas mileage comparison data...
1986F150Six replied to 1986F150Six's topic in Bullnose Enthusiasts Forum
I lost ~2.5 mpg without the grill deflector. Also, there was more tank to tank variability without the grill deflector. -
Having just returned from the 2019 Garagemahal Truck Show, I need to update this data. One consideration for this year's data is that I had a passenger. Also, part of this year's aerodynamic modification [card board tube grill cover] had to be removed after the show, before the return drive, due to water damage caused by the heavy rain. 2014 55-62 mph with no aerodynamic modifications = 21.93 mpg [highest tank = 23.26 mpg] 2015 55-62 mph with aerodynamic modifications = 24.13 mpg [highest tank = 25.72 mpg] 2016 55-70 mph [weighted towards 65-70] with aerodynamic modifications = 22.05 mpg [highest tank = 23.46 mpg] 2017 Missing data due to having driven another vehicle. 2018 65-75 mph [closer to 75] with no aerodynamic modifications] = 19.87 mpg [highest tank = 21.3 mpg] 2019 65-75 mph with aerodynamic modifications = 21.65 mpg [highest tank = 21.95 mpg] 2019 60-75 mph with partial [see explanation, above] aerodynamic modifications = 19.12 mpg [highest tank = 21.17 mpg]

Robert Evans, Gary. -
I have just returned from the trek to OK, using the Type 5 mirrors, graciously supplied by Rembrant, attempting to reduce wind drag. I agree that they look good, but must report that the rear visibility is less. Thanks, again, Cory, for the mirrors! I will attempt to report, later, if they contributed to enhanced fuel mileage.

I know I speak for all who attended the 2019 Garagemahal Truck Show as well as all who could not, in expressing thanks to Gary and his lovely wife, Janey, for all they do. Thank you, Gary and Janey! To put this in perspective [what they do], this was my 6th time to visit Skiatook, OK. Every time, they have opened their home to all who attend as well as family members of those attending. Friday night, all who wanted were treated to absolutely wonderful barbeque from Mac's. This included all the "fixings" and drinks. Janey had prepared her delicious brownies, chocolate chip cookies, white chocolate and macadamia nut cookies as well as a special recipe coffee cake. Ummmmm! Oh, yea... all were treated to specialty coffees at any time of the day or night! The show expenses and trophies are covered by the Lewis family. The show site and planning with advertisements are also the work of Gary. Saturday, after the show, Gary and Janey treated a number of us to lunch at the local favorite, Ron's Burgers. The specialty is large cheeseburgers with mustard, fried onions and pickles, covered [literally] with thick, rich homemade chili. This is accompanied with thick sliced French fries. By the way, the burger is served with a knife and fork and you certainly need these! For those who have not realized this, the forum and website would not exist if not subsidized by Gary's family. We owe a lot to their generosity. Thanks, again! Please, everybody, let Gary know you appreciate his efforts and generosity!

original fabric for the seats and headliner?
1986F150Six replied to Romel's topic in Bullnose Enthusiasts Forum
I have ordered fabric for a 1984 and 1986. Samples were sent and the match was excellent; quality, too. -

Help With Show Award Planning

I could use one of those, especially if it's paired with a tach that only reads 4K -
I'd win that hands down. My truck hasn't burned a single drop of gasoline in years... I just edited my post changing "gas" to "fuel".

It might be nice if these companies were represented at the yearly show and had a truck with what they sell installed, so we could see it in person.

What about a Bullnose with a medium duty truck speedometer which goes to 999,999.9? -
