  1. Gary, Frame is rusty, yes...but I've certainly seen a lot worse. I didn't get underneath to get a real good look at it, but the truck had been undercoated at some point in it's life, and that's a good thing. It doesn't save them completely, but often times it makes them worth fixing. I don't mind patching holes...but I do have limits in how much work I'm willing to take on. Once the front cab mounts collapse, I'm out. Cab corners and holes in the floor are one thing, but once the structure starts to sag on the frame...Rembrant is out. I can't go see it until the weekend, so I won't have any more info until then. He claims that the Flareside bed is in pretty decent condition, so we'll see. I hope it is something you are interested in!
  2. That was my thinking too, Jim. I think the motor has a worm gear drive which can't be overcome.
  3. Yes, that's cool! And you could put a plastic plug in the hole to give it a bit of a finished look. So, could you have both electric and manual?
  4. Cory - Is the frame rusted? If so, what does that portend for the rest of the truck? And is the front bumper on crooked or is that just what the pic shows? Just thinking about the amount of work involved. But it is a Flareside and 4wd, which ticks some boxes.
  5. Nice truck. But for that kind of money I would expect the pics to be better so people can tell if the body is straight.
  6. Andre - The Bronco is really looking good! On the alternator, have you looked at our page here: Documentation/Electrical/3G Conversion? There are schematics there, and perhaps that will help you. However, you didn't say what alternator you are using. That page is geared to using a Ford "3G" alternator. But the ideas can be applied to others as well. But, you said "lights and gauge on the dash". By "gauge" I assume you mean the ammeter. But does your truck have a warning indicator instead of the ammeter? Some did.
  7. That's a great carb and a good price. I don't need one, but surely someone will.
  8. The factory shop manual section called General Brake Service is on that tab at Documentation/Brakes. And in it you'll find this:
  9. Yep, the later lower steering shaft is a better design, all the way around. That's what's going in Big Blue - now that I found the ones I had stashed.
  10. Bill - I'd add up the costs and weigh that against how hard it is to get to them. For something like Big Blue where the compressor is at the top and easily gotten to, and to remove the condenser only requires leaning the radiator back. So I'd go with a used compressor. In fact, I am! But from what you've said about how hard it is on a Taurus, I think I'd seriously consider buying new parts.
  11. Yes, certification label H9 means 8.8" 3.55 limited slip.
  12. Why make a spreadsheet when we have one that should do it nicely: Documentation/Driveline/Calculators. There is a place up top where you can input several variable, including OD ratio. The transmission ratios are already in it. And, if you need something else please tell me. The Overall Gear Ratio section was put there for Dave if I remember correctly, so we can tune and tweak it to make it do what we need.
  13. MPC says that E5TZ 5C489-A is the correct rear sway bar mounting kit for: 85/on F250/350 - - 10 1/4" Sterling axle — Over/8500 G.V.W.-exc. chassis cab
  14. Correct for a 460. MPC shows: 83/on F250/350 & 88/on F(Super Duty) E3TZ 6028-C R.H. & E8TZ 6029-B L.H

Oh, ok. We are, quite literally, on the same page.
  16. Yes. Huck was a 1990 F250 w/a 460/E4OD combo. It was a half truck as it was from the back of the cab forward. The engine provided F3 heads, which are the best of the EFI heads, and other bits. The tranny was professionally rebuilt and is in Dad's truck. The master cylinder/proportioning valve lines are on Big Blue. The whole A/C system and underhood HVAC plenum is going in Big Blue. And many other parts have found homes as well. So while Jim calls the F450 "the truck that keeps giving", Huck did/does as well.
  17. Dave - Are you trying to email this way? If that's what you are trying and it isn't working then please show me screen shots of what errors you are getting.
  18. The best way to rotate the pic is to open it in a photo editing app, rotate it, and save it again. I've done just that and here 'tis:
  19. The 450's A/C must have gone to Bill as it didn't come to me. I got the EFI system, inc plenums, injectors & rails, wiring, throttle body, inlet plumbing, etc. And the C-II power steering pump & bracket, hydroboost, pedal, hoses, etc. Distributor, electrical harness, and Jim's own alternator. Plus lots, and lots more.

I think we are still talking about two different pages as those are the 2nd and 3rd illustrations from the page at Documentation/Fuel Systems/Air Cleaners. I'm guessing that the way I have the pages set up is causing you to go to another page than that one. Can you give me the URL of the one you are looking at?
  21. I've not heard of the poly bushings making popping or creaking noises. But the TSB Jim mentioned is here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/97-03-10-frame-creakingpopping.html.
  22. Yes, the front fender, fender flare, and 4x4 line up nicely.

Jim - Are we talking about the same page? I was referring to the one that has these images:
