  1. I would take a bit of walking someone through the editor, but I could do that tomorrow if someone wanted.
  2. I put that in, Chris, and the gray banner is gone for the user, but the text Bullnose Forum isn't visible in the editor at any zoom setting - even if I turn the logo or text off. So I couldn't change the text if I wanted to.
  3. Would it be easier for me to set one or both of you as editors? At least for a while to play with this stuff?
  4. That doesn't work very well. As shown below we got the gray banner back. But is sorta helped on the editor. At 110% I can see all of the Bullnose Forum text awa the embedded text. At 110% I still have the embedded text but only a sliver of Bullnose Forum. So the " " works better for the user and I just have to remember to turn the logo off. Unless you have other ideas?
  5. Someone needs to help me understand how to "modify the banner-content css class to set the display property there".
  6. That's cool, Bob. I like it. But I didn't get the reference, so I'm glad you explained it.
  7. Yeah, a pusher fan wouldn't be easy to do on Big Blue and the back side of the grille is already hacked up. So if I want a fan for the A/C I'll have to go electric. But that's a big IF given what Scott is learning.
  8. Well, here's what I've found. I played with turning the logo and text on and off and got these results: Logo On: I can't see the embed code unless I zoom to 110%, at which point it appears. Anything less or more and the embed code is covered up. Text On: The embed code is just slightly visible at 100 and 125%, and fully visible at 110% Off: With the header off, meaning no text and no logo, I can see the embed code at any level of zoom So it seems to me like there's a problem in the editor since it cannot see the embed code in most conditions but the html functions just fine. Having said that, I have a workaround so I'm going to leave your html in. Thanks!
  9. It is published, and seems to work - save for viewing in the editor. For the page with three embed widgets go to Bullnose Forum/New Home Page. Won't show anything, but they are there.
  10. Should I go ahead and publish so we can see the results on the page and not just in the editor?
  11. Well, Chris, it works. Sorta. And I need your help understanding what is happening. With the extra code in there the results aren't what I expected. The editor is seemingly happy with the html as it doesn't barf. But what I see in the editor isn't correct as the header text or logo overlays the embed code. I created a new page I could play with, added an embed code, and with the logo turned on I initially had no embed code showing. So I added another one and it still didn't show. So I added another. Nada. Then I zoomed to 110% and got the view shown below, which means the logo is overlaying the code - when viewing in the editor. (Note that the code itself works fine.) So then I turned the logo off and went back to the Garysgaragemahal and got this: And then I turned the text off and could see this:
  12. That is good info, Scott. And the 2010-14 radiators are a lot closer to the size of ours than the MK VIII radiators. But they aren't a perfect match, which leaves me still wondering about using a shroud with an 18 or 18 1/2" opening and slipping a Mk VIII fan into the opening. As for this thread helping others, I think it already has. There was a guy of FB this morning asking how to put electric fans on his Bullnose so I gave him a link to where that discussion started in this thread and he "liked" it. Having said that, at some point we may want to have a thread or page dedicated to what we've learned about e-cooling these trucks.
  13. Some of you know that I "successfully" removed a gray banner that we had in our header that was taking up space. But what you don't know is that doing so caused a problem with the Weebly editor. Yesterday I noticed that when I used the editor to look at the home page, which has the forum embedded on it, I couldn't see the embed code if in the "desktop" mode, but could see that the code was there in the "mobile" mode. However, even then I couldn't edit it. So today I spent 2 hours on the phone with Weebly troubleshooting the problem. They could replicate the problem, but after poking around they finally asked "Have you put any custom code in?" My first thought was "No, I've not put any custom code in." But then I realized that taking code out made the rest of the code custom, and in the end I was the culprit. As soon as I put the code below back onto Line 39 everything started working. I've not published the site again with that code in place, but as soon as I do the banner will be back. So I'd like to modify the HTML to remove the banner, but I still need to be able to see the embed code. Are any of you HTML gurus? Can you tell me what I did wrong and what I should do instead? Here's a screenshot of the whole of the header code:
  14. That should work out very nicely.
  15. Don't they though! I run mine on full brilliance, but some people would want to turn them down, and they do dim.
  16. I'd bet he got a good deal on it. And the plan surely had to be to replace the cam.
  17. I have Bilsteins on Big Blue, but I've not had KYB's so cannot compare them. The Bilsteins are fine and seem to work well. We had an incident on the GOAT where we hit a "jump" at 30 and while we didn't go airborne we certainly took most if not all of the travel out of the suspension. And when we came down it was gentle. I expected to hit hard, but we didn't.
  18. Scott - Where did you find the info on the 2010-14 F-Series fans? I did some searching and didn't find what I was looking for, including the dimensions. But, those dimensions are BIG! I measured Big Blue's shroud @ 28 1/2 x 19, and the radiator at about 33 x 19. So 40.32" wide is huge!
  19. Yes, that's a good way to test. The 1G is adequate for a truck with standard options, inc A/C. But if you have the A/C and headlights on and the engine idling the alternator can't provide enough current to power them so the battery will make up the difference. That's fine unless you do extensive idling or add other power-hungry devices like a large stereo amp or electric cooling fans.
  20. An '81 should have a 1G, which has an external fan and external regulator, which is the box on the fender by the starter relay. The 2G, aka Firestarter, came out in '86 and has an external fan but internal regulator - no box on the fender. The main problem with them is that the output connectors can develop a bad connection and start heating, which makes the connection worse, which causes more heating, which... The 3G came out in the 90's and has both an internal regulator and internal fans. It was a serious redesign and puts out more current at idle than either the 1G or 2G do at full tilt.
  21. Yeah, 3 speeds going backwards. Would have to change out the cam to fix that, and no new cam is listed. Nice looking truck and not bad at all for the price.
