  1. I didn't realize the engine cooler and the tranny cooler were so similar. They look to be the same with different flanges and brackets. Are the fittings different?
  2. The first one WAS a good price, which is why it is winging its way to me. Thank you very much! The others are the right parts, but the wrong colors and not nearly as good of a price.
  3. I don't have a picture because I don't have one, but I do have the factory illustration: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/c6.html. They are on the Cooling Lines tab.
  4. I'm sure I don't have to tell you, but the vacuum diagrams and how things work are here: Electrical/EVTM/1986 EVTM/AC & Heater.
  5. That hole looks just like one in a Ford radiator support. Anyway, you really are making progress. And I'll bet you are really glad you have the shop to work in. Especially with the Noreaster coming.
  6. I won't say they couldn't have had a 9" in an '87. The master parts catalog indicates they weren't using them, but I'm sure Ford didn't throw anything away when it would bolt right in. The MPC says that slide locks ended in March of '81, but I've documented trucks that were built as late as July of '81 that came with slide locks. I think they just used up whatever supply they had of the locks. So it is quite probable that Ford continued to use whatever supply of 9" axles they had until they ran out, and that surely varied by the manufacturing plant.
  7. You are peeling the onion. On the HVAC, it sounds like you still have a leak. But it may be a cracked plastic vacuum line going into the HVAC system. Or the vacuum reservoir itself. I would check the underhood bits out long before I'd "tear the dash apart". That's no fun.
  8. Welcome! I hear really good things about the 300, although I've never had one. Maybe some day? Does yours have the feedback carb and computer? Where's home? We have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map on the menu) and I could add you to that as well. We don't put more than the town or zip code to keep some privacy.
  9. I'm glad you asked the question as it pointed out a large hole in the info on the website.
  10. Interesting. The way I read the Fuel Systems/Fuel System Part #'s/Fuel Tank Selector Valves page, your truck should have a 3-port valve and a mechanical fuel pump. If that is the case then the only way the transfer can be happening is if the valve is bad and there is either siphoning or at least a transfer due to gravity going on. So the first thing to do is to ascertain what kind of fuel system you have. Does it have a mechanical pump on the engine and a 3-port valve, meaning there are only 3 lines to the valve on the frame under the driver's seat? I ask because the normal way this happens is with the notorious 6-port valve, which is known to return fuel to the other tank from which fuel is being drawn. (As Ray Cecil about that.) But if you have a 3-port valve then there's no return.
  11. Hmmm. Looks like you found a big gap in the information. There's also a page on Rear Axles, but it isn't complete. I'll work on that, probably tomorrow night during the World Series, and will hope to consolidate or at least refer from one page to the other. As for whether an '86 had a 9" or an 8.8", it looks to me like the catalog says it could be either. Here's the entry for F100's and F150's, and the WDM and WFE axles are, as it says, the 9". And they were used through '86. But, from what I see, if the rear axle is the lighter-duty one, meaning rated for 2,800 lbs, then it will be a 9" since the 8.8" only came with a 3,750 rating. Now I need to record this, and the similar info about the F250/350 rear axles, in the Y2Y Differences page.
  12. You said "the pump is not working", but is that the sender? The senders seem to be easily damaged. The resistance element is apparently delicate. So, maybe it didn't survive the R&R?
  13. Correct for our trucks. But I paid more like $60 for the same thing a few years ago.
  14. 80/81 F 100/350.U150 4 O/D EOTZ 7213-C Clark trans.-threaded
  15. Not for our trucks. Our glove box doors should be something like EOTZ 9806024-A, and the "A" means Black.
  16. I can't see any numbers that I can find in the catalog. But radios are listed here: Electrical/Radios if someone else can find a number that matches.
  17. Should be 9932230-B, as shown here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/beds-tailgates-and-components.html But he said 6' bed, and they should be 6 3/4'.
  18. Noah Garay, from Facebook, sent me the installations instructions for the Warn front bumper that is on Big Blue. I added it to the Exterior/Bumpers page. Thanks, Noah!
  19. Looks great, Cory. I applaud saving the radio-delete bezel, and this one looks very good.
  20. Jein. As shown here (Interior/Doors/Door Locks) the turn signal lenses changed somewhere around 9/80. But, "around" is the operative word. I don't think Ford threw anything away, so they surely didn't stop using the clear ones at midnight on a specific day. Instead, they probably used them until the supply ran out, and that probably varied by plant.
  21. Today on FB someone asked a question about the engine compartment light and I posted a link to the '85 EVTM that says that all the courtesy lights, including the engine compartment one, are served by Fuse 8. But someone else posted a pic from a factory wiring which said that said those lights are served by Fuse 7. So I pulled out all 7 of my EVTM's, and they all say Fuse 8. And then I looked at all 4 of my factory wiring diagrams (the '81 and '84 I have in paper form, and the '85 and '86 I have on here) and all of them agree that it is Fuse 7. But everyone agrees that the courtesy lights are served by a light green/yellow wire. And here's the front of an '82 fuse box I have in the attic, with my thumb at the #8 position, and #7 is directly left of that, as shown here in the '85 EVTM: (That pic absolutely REFUSES to rotate correctly. ) Well, I wonder what's behind that fuse box? Guess what? The light green/yellow wire goes into #8's position. The EVTM's WIN! But wait, there's more! The wiring diagrams are right as well. How? Because they call the same fuse spot two different #'s. EVTM's call the spot #8, and the wiring diagrams call it #7. Go figure.
  22. Rare and correct. Oddly enough, the master parts catalog says it is correct for 1982-86. But the XLS wasn't available after what, '83? That's probably the third time today the MPC has been questionable.
