  1. It is said to be an E0TZ 8750-A. But, it may actually be an E1TZ 8150-A, which is a dark argent grille for an '80/81, as shown here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/exterior-trim-and-moulding.html. And the price is very good, although the shipping just about doubles the price.
  2. Interesting. I assumed they came in the correct colors, but the catalog says "Paint to match". Anyway, that's the right one. Kinda 'spensive though.
  3. Look at Page 69 here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/headlamps.html. That shows the backside of the instrument panel, and C125 (or C125A?) is the connector that powers the courtesy lights. Also on that page in the lower left is a depiction of one of the courtesy lamps. And, on the right end of the instrument panel, meaning the left in in the illustration because we are looking at the back, there's a "See View A", which is that depiction of the courtesy light. That shows where that one goes.
  4. One thing I always ask them, for all vehicles (and my car is going on the rack day after tomorrow), is that they absolutely and positively make sure that the steering wheel is straight when they are finished. That is my one pet peeve with alignments. I never have any issues with the vehicle tracking...they always seem to do a great job of that, but it drives me nuts if the steering wheel is off even a hair...lol. Anyway, it is just one of those things that I always insist that they put in writing on the work order. PLEASE MAKE SURE STEERING WHEEL IS STRAIGHT! I know, I'm a nag....but still...lol. So what is in an 82 4x4 front end? Does it have ball joints like my 84 2wd? I don't know what to tell you, but I have a friend that works in an alignment shop and can ask him if you'd like. Actually, he's a member on here but is never on. Maybe I can get him to comment.
  5. Yes, that's the power wire, but it should be yellow with blue dot's. I'm sure it is. And the other wire should be ground. As for the illumination, the ash tray had its own as an option. It is shown in the wiring on Page 87: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/instrument-illumination2.html As for the courtesy lamps, I'll try to get some pics of those on Big Blue tomorrow. But they are right next to the two kick panels. And, as shown on Page 83, you are looking for black/light blue wires.
  6. Interesting! I'll add that to the Y2Y differences page.
  7. That happens to me, too. Glad you found it, and hopefully everything will work with a good fuse.
  8. If your headliner is like mine, it was raining yuk on my head. I pulled the whole thing out, but the cardboard is still good so it can easily be recovered. So, where are you going camping?
  9. Welcome. And it is quite a warning.
  10. Thanks, David. I was out and about and couldn't look that up.
  11. Newfoundland... That's a loooong ride to Skiatook.
  12. Well, with David's help I've added these books to the library. All are Light Truck Facts books with the exception of the "Data Book", which is a 1984 book. It has some information, but I'm still on the hunt for a true '84 Light Truck Facts Book to complete the set. And the set looks like this: So now I'm ready to finish the engine table, and then move on to other similar tables, like transmissions. Plus, I should have more engine spec's to add.
  13. On the page for exterior paint (Exterior/Exterior Paint Codes) there's a little symbol of a circle with a slash through it that is to indicate "Clear Coat Colors". I think that means those colors got a clear coat on top of them. It looks like those are acrylic lacquers, and some are metallics. But not all metallics got clear coated. And not all of those clear coated were metallics.
  14. Cool! And if one of you wants to invite him to join and post the stuff here go for it. I daren't.
  15. The "rubber boot" is designed to go on a ball on the end of a stud. Most of the parts stores I've been in carry a selection thereof, so buy a pack, find the right size, and put it where the current stud is.
  16. Gary, will spend the winter in VA/NC lots of overdue house work to be done. Pulling the top end of my Bronco engine apart as well. Then off to Newfoundland next May/June for the summer. Some short motorcycle trips maybe to the Carolina beaches and Appalachian Mountains this fall. In the spring there is a tentative motorcycle trip to Laconia NH. Sounds like a plan. What's up w/the Bronco?
  17. Jonathan - I'll check into the glitch. Thanks. I'd not run into that, but I do know about having to hit the icon twice. However, I guess I've not edited from my phone. Anyway, you got the certification label posted. And, it has the complete VIN. Hmmmm.....
  18. You are now, literally, on the map. And you should start a new thread in the main section for your truck. Add lots of pics, keep track of your work and upgrades, get support, etc.
  19. The cigar lighter runs off the same fuse as the horn, so if the horn works the lighter should. But the connection to the lighter is a push-on arrangement and if you've been working in that area it is easy to knock it off. And, by the way, these trucks were made in the USofA, and the power is always on to the ligher.
  20. Jonathan - Do you remember if it had the certification label filled out with the VIN?
  21. I would agree - beat on. Depending on how the 460 was installed there could be all sorts of problems as it should have had the perches change out to make the engine sit down where it should be. But most don't and the engine sits high and the drive angle is wrong. I'd pay $1000 for the 2wd one vs $1800 for this one.
  22. I added a page on switches: Electrical/Switches. It isn't done, but it is at least started. Please take a look and let me know what switches I'm missing. And, note that there are 3 different fog/road lamp switches! I wonder if we've looked for all three of those?
  23. John/Bulldawg1081 - Welcome! As suggested on FB, check for a VIN on the frame. And if you can't seem to find it let me know as I think I can find the one on Dad's truck and take a measurement to show you where it should be. (I think I also have a pic but can't find it.) So, with the possibility of it being unusual, have the plans changed to a full resto?
