  1. Yep, sure do. Probably only one place on the interweb - here! Go to Documentation/Engines/Windsor and then the 351W tab and then the Specifications tab. And then scroll down to the 1984 spec's.
  2. I used to think so as well, but you will see them occasionally on the 85-86 Bullnoses. Gary, did the Type 14 paddle mirrors replace the old small chrome Type-5 mirrors like mine? Or were they both available at the same time? According to the MPC both types were used through at least '89. But other than what I see in there I don't know.
  3. The "E5" part of the part number says it was at least designed in 1985, and parts usually appeared on vehicles the same year they were designed, although not always. And, sure enough, that is the case for these mirrors. As the snippet below shows, which is from our page on Documentation/Exterior/Exterior Mirrors, these came out on 1985 trucks. But, the "85/" indicates that they were used at least until the end of that master parts catalog, which was 1989. So they were used on both Bullnose and Bricknose trucks.
  4. I did it with a dial caliper, but on the first try it was slightly too long and the brakes dragged. Don't do that.
  5. Several thoughts. First, did you adjust the shoes in the rear? Maybe they aren't tight enough? Second, someone on here had a problem with soft brakes and wound up making a pressure bleeder and was able to get the air out that way. You could search for that thread. Last, there's an adjustment between the master and booster. And if it isn't adjusted properly the pedal can go way down before the brakes come on. The instructions on adjusting it are at Documentation/Driveline/Brakes and on the Master Cylinders & Boosters tab and then the Push Rod Adjustment tab.
  6. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, David! Hope you get to hold that grandbaby. Grandkids are the blessings we get for raising our kids. As for blessings, I certainly AM! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
  7. If you go here (Documentation/Electrical/EVTM/1981 EVTM/Lights), which is where the illustrations below come from, you'll see that the left headlight grounds on G801 and the right on G802. And that those grounds are on the inner fenders behind the headlights. Those grounds would be the first things I'd check.
  8. I suspect he was referring to this about Rahab from Joshua Chapter 2:
  9. That sounds like a ground problem. I say that because what you described shouldn’t happen, but a ground problem can make very strange things happen. Check the headlight grounds.
  10. Nice! So what's the plan for the bed-less one? By the way, this forum's software isn't smart enough to read the orientation info in a picture's metadata and rotate it properly. So you have to open the pic in editing software, which usually does properly orient the picture, and then save it before posting it. That usually corrects orientation problems.
  11. You are now on the map, Scott. Hope you'll start threads and post pics about your trucks. Or, if not starting threads, and maybe in addition to threads, you could post in What Have You Done To Your Truck Today?
  12. Hmmm... black? Seems like I took a pic of a black bumper and posted it, but can't find it right off. Know where it is?
  13. Maybe you can be the first and tell us how you like it?
  14. Yes, it is nice. And up there it is probably quite rare for a truck of that age not to have terrible rot due to the salt on the roads in the winter. Hence the price. And the bumpers, plural, do tend to stand out. What would they look like in black?
  15. Looks like he got an A in Creative Writing.
  16. Shaun was probably the one talking about them. Don't know if he was looking for one. If I remember correctly he was looking for the boot they go one. But let's see what he says..... And yes, I do believe they were 1980 only.
  17. Those are nice! Not sure if they've been posted before. But I do think they were for the XLS, and while I may be wrong on that, surely not this early in the day.
  18. Good to know, Ken. Thanks. And, hello! Good to hear (see?) from you.
  19. Glad you had fun, David. Tell Robert hello for me. As for the MPG, you are right about the sweet spot. I assume your 1:1 gear would have had you turning too fast? Still, that's very good mileage.
  20. Good idea, David. He said the HD clutch is the way to go. So it is on order. And while I was at it I asked what his thoughts were about: Throttle Body: OEM is fine unless you want it to really rock above 3,500 4,000 rpm Injectors: 26# Accel from Summit Racing
  21. I think I've seen pics of that manifold before, but I'll let the 300 six gurus chime in. However, I can't find it in the MPC nor the crossreference.
  22. Ok guys, I need some help on a flywheel and clutch decision. On the flywheel, the one I have is marked D9TE 6380-BB, and that doesn't cross-ref in my books. And it doesn't match either of the #'s from our page on Flywheels. But it is what was on BB when I got him, so works fine. And given the shiny spot on it the clutch was 11 7/8" in diameter, so must have been a 12". As for the clutch, obviously I'll need a new one as the ZF's input shaft is larger than that of the T19. So the question becomes which one and if that choice will require a new flywheel. Both Amazon and Luk list two clutch sets for the application: LuK 07-910 Clutch Set: And Luk gives these spec's: Clutch Plate Facing Outer Diameter: 12-1/4" Clutch Disc Diameter (in): 12-5/16" Clutch Disc Springs: 5 LuK 07-092 Clutch Set: But LuK doesn't give any spec's on this, but Summit says it is a 12.250" clutch. I'm was struggling to tell the difference between the two. The Summit site says that there is a pilot bushing included with the 092 set and it is bronze, but there isn't one included with the higher $ 910 set. So I called Carolina Clutch, who make the LuK products, and was told "The 910 is a heavy duty clutch, with different material on the clutch disc and more clamping load in the pressure plate." And later "If the engine has had anything done to it to increase the output go with the HD clutch." Further "Both sets come with a pilot bearing", although he can't remember if it is bronze or needle. Last "Both clutches are designed to work with a stock flywheel." So, it seems to me that I'll be fine with the D9 flywheel and should go with the 910 HD clutch set. Thoughts?
