Today is EXACTLY 40 years since I was thrown under a tractor trailer.
Jim, you and Big Bro have astral links.
He was incubating at the factory when you got hurt, and was born while you were under traction.
I estimate he was delivered to the dealer end of May and reached his new home on Anticosti Island little before you left hospital.

Jim there is being blunt and honest and then there is TMI. of all my years riding motorcycles and travelling across our country on a Goldwing . I count myself extremely lucky to have avoided "the crash". I do miss riding but I have made the decision not to as my wife is a challenging passenger in a car let alone in the wind.

My wife made me give up riding too!
Although, before we got married there was nothing she liked more than a Sunday morning jet up to Vermont or the Catskills for brunch and a pleasant ride home.

I flipped a GSXR 1100 at about 172 and slid over 100 yards.
I hit the ground so hard it split the seams of my leathers and blew both boots off.
$1400 Bates full race leathers!  😳

No skin from the bottom of my helmet to below my butt, and I ground through the side of my foot (showing bone in my ankle and pinky toe)

proof that it's not the speed that kills but the blunt deceleration trauma. not pleasant either way. you live to tell it so there is that.

I drive a roll-back.
I can tell you, it's not the speed, but the sudden stop at the end.
Acceleration, deceleration, whatever...

Trees don't move, nor do bridge abutments (usually 😯)

The whole point of that airbag exploding into your face is to give you milliseconds instead of nanoseconds to come to a stop.

Re: The FORD Lounge

about 20 years ago my younger brother tried to push over a 20" plus cedar tree with his foxbody. the tree did not move. shortened the car 3' in line with the driver. this is a case where the seat belt would have killed him. nobody wants to hear that, but no safeties are foolproof. they only increase your odds of safety. in his case he was spit half out of the car when it tried to spin around the tree. his right shoe was still folded between the seat and brake pedal when I got there. He survived but he does walk funny to this day.

It takes the YouTube server time to process and their AI to vet it for violations of TOS.

I lost thousands of records in a house fire.
The acrid black smoke could be seen and SMELT for miles.

Next week I get a 4Tb Micro SD card!

You could put an entire Empire State bldg full of vinyl on it!  🤯

I'm changing the thread title back.

I didn't get nearly the responses I expected.
Maybe I'm just toooo far out there for you guys???

This morning (didn't dawn) I started my day w/ Mingus and Coletrane.
I LOVE all awesome music!

You're never too old for outlandish, acid fueled Funk.

George Clinton is a monster of music!
I could relate a story about a certain Disco awards ceremony, where his alter ego was to receive a award with Parlement.

But I think that most of the members already don't believe the things I've seen.

Jim, I have an iTunes list which I called “Jeff-Divers” (could be translated as Jeff-Miscellaneous, or maybe Jeff-Assorted?).
I’ve put in it every song I like, no matter the style.
Kids and wife hate it.  It makes me laughing, and I admit that various styles and rythmes back to back can be a little ear-scratchy.

I realize that my music taste looks more as the visible light spectrum, compared with yours, which I would tag as “infinite electromagnetic spectrum”.
