Painting my truck this week.

Powerman5K
Just thought I'd share that I'm painting my Bullnose this week. It has come with its share of ups and downs. Don't have a garage to paint in so I opted for the classic "driveway" approach. Not too bad for my first full vehicle paint job. Here are some pictures of the bed. I start the cab today.

Well that looks just amazing!
You seem to have perfect weather.

A transformation like that took a lot of skill and preparation.
Congratulations on your efforts.

Finished priming and sanding today. Base and clear goes on the cab tomorrow.

On the crummy side. My tailgate fell off the trash can that was holding it up.  The can buckled under the weight after a few hours. Major bummer that will require more filler and repainting.

Nice, love it!

Know what, I hesitated between this blue and Light Canyon Red for Big Brother’s new two tone look!

Really sorry to see that.  😖

Hopefully it's not too hard to put right again.

LOL! Absolutely not!

I thought you were sorry about my colour choice, red instead of blue.

Kind of «sorry about your red choice, not too late to change it for blue».

Now I'm really laughing, about my poor English understanding!

Adam, sorry for the tailgate damage!

Not poor English understanding.
You must not have seen the 'in reply to...'

Your truck looks fantastic Jeff!
I think the LCR/WW tu-tone fits Big Brother perfect.

Thanks Jim!
I agree, the red choice was finally the good one for that big guy.

I still really like Adam's Blue two tone too!

And, again, I am sincerely sorry for your tailgate Adam.
Sure you're going to fix it with no traces of this accident.

Have to ask, what paint are you using?  Is this single shot or primer/base coat/gloss?

Looks really good.  I learned a lot and made a LOT of mistakes on mine…..

I'm using Limco primer and base. And Omni (PPG) clear. I went with Ford's Brite Blue and Pure White. Both colors from the proper generation.

I used a single shot--not sure I would again.  But, I stripped everything down to metal, with a lot of acid rust prep, and a lot of cutting out metal, etc. Then epoxy primer, primer, then single shot.....anyway...what you are doing looks really good.  I also taped my garage walls with plastic like you!!!  You have taped off the lines quite nicely BTW.

I would not pick that color blue, I'm not good at picturing how something will look, be it paint, home decor or whatever.

But, I like it, looks really good! Good job!

Re: Painting my truck this week.

Just finished getting my truck back together after painting. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

Next on the list is to install a Raptor spray in bed liner.
