I'd bet that's from an '86 as while the burled wood came out in '85 the '85 bezels turned purple over time and the ones from '86 don't seem to have. That one is nice.

I've had it happen to me.

Even if he had stayed in it, it was always possible that a bidding war could happen, and before you know it you're paying $145 for a radio bezel. That happened with my red Ranger, on a hard to find carbon fiber (appearance, not real) radio bezel that was only offered on a few trucks. I ended up winning, but paid a hefty price for it.
