Second Bullnose project (with my brother). Picked up this bad boy for $1000 and it is rough. Pretty much bought it with no info except that it won't run. We put a new battery in it and it wouldn't do anything. Figured out the coil wasn't hooked up properly and got it to crank. It rumbled off starting fluid but wasn't getting fuel. We noticed the front of the carb was leaking a little. I pulled of the carb and cleaned an rebuilt it and noticed the fuel was FOUL. we dropped the tank and pulled the sending unit. The fuel looked like tomato soup! (See pics). Replaced all of that and cranked it up but still no fuel to the carb. We decided to install a Holley Mighty Mite on the frame rail and that did the trick! It's up and running but sounds terrible. Hopefully a few adjustments and it will be ready for the mud soon!

Lil'Red is a '87 F250 HD, 4.10's, 1356 4x4, Zf-5, 3G, PMGR, Saginaw PS, desmogged with a Holley 80508 and Performer intake.
Too much other stuff to mention.

Some more progress...we got the carb tuned better and drove it to the gas station a block away. Feels like the brake calipers are sticking, but maybe they just need to be used a little. It sounds like something is knocking in the top of the engine...IMG_49891.jpg

That would do it! Ouch! So, what caused that is the question.

I looked back over your posts and don't see where I asked you where you live. Nor did I ask if you want on the map. I ask now 'cause I think the Kum & Go chain is local to me in the Tulsa area. Looking at their map for this area they go as far west as Stillwater, NE to Mount Vernon, MO. And SE to Fort Smith, AR.

So, where are you?
