how to get my avatar turned right side up

I have tried to reset my avatar image several times and it keeps posting it sideways.  Any tips?

Try posting it on here - after you open it in an editing app and then save it. That should get it oriented correctly.

I don't know.   I have saved several pics in a both png and jpg formats, tried resizing, etc.  I get to the "Crop image" part ok, then it always sends an error message.  So I guess sideways for now haha

but here is a pic from a guy who does paintings of old vehicles, he did the General.  Pretty cool!
