Thermal Vs. Non-Thermal Fan Clutch

fords4life
From what I've seen both options are available for the 302.  I've never had a vehicle with a non-thermal clutch.  Wondering if anyone has compared the two as far as fuel consumption is concerned.  I will never tow(except my BBQ), with this truck or have any kind of heavy loads in the bed, that's what my F-250 is for.  More interested in any potential gains in mpg going to a thermal clutch vs. the non-thermal

Thermal is the best.  It doesn't run the fan much unless needed, and that helps MPG as well as reduces noise.

Amen to that. Towing with Darth in hot weather with the A/C on. the fan would sound like one of NASA Langley's wind tunnels leaving a stop light on US 301 passing East of DC, once the air coming through the radiator cooled down a bit, it would just taper off.
