New wheels! Ok

rcarlisle
Went to a local swap meet yesterday.  Found several sets of wheels available.  From a set of poorly brush painted wagon wheels for$200 to a better primed set for $150, to these, asking $125, bought for $100. 15 x 7.5 from a newer gen F150.  I'll have to find some tires.  I think I want to leave my steelies with LT tires just as they are and find some 70s with big white letters for these.  I need to clean theses up so it may be a while before I get tires.

Also, what lug nuts do I need?

Cleaned and polished a bit.  I think this is as far as I'll go on the polishing for now.  Do the rest and see how they look Don't want to get them too pretty.

I believe they are 1/2"-20 with 60 degree conical seats, but somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. You can buy them anywhere. I'd get the deep acorn style. Amazon is full of them, and you can get a full set for under $20 usually.

I haven't been to a swap meet in decades, but you really found a gem there.

Organizers do 3 or 4 a year here and this was the largest one they've had in years.

Chasingsscars.com.  The last one this year is in Nov  here.  It's usually smaller that the one associated with our Autumn Leaves Festival though.

Check it out!  Had the new wheels swapped to the old tires.  The Steelies were 5.5" wide, the aluminums are 7.5".  This makes the tires look wider and the track is as well.  One of the steel wheels was bent a little or something.  The shudder that I felt occasionally is gone.  Truck drives differently for sure.

I really would have a tough time choosing if I had 8" wide steel wheels.  I really like the rings and caps.
