Hi my name is Kyle I have a 1985 f150 with a 300 6. I have a lot of mechanical knowlage but these old girls can be hard with the computer crapp and no tools to monitor them my old girl runs good when it wants to when it don't it is a gutless wonder the timing jumps around as it please

My trucks are a 1985 f150 with a 300 6 4 wheel drive I also have an 84 f150 with a 351w not really working on that one right now mostly the 85

Yes, you e discovered the ills of a computerized system with very little in the way of diagnostics. And when something happens it locks the timing down in limp-home mode. No fun!

Welcome, Kyle. My 1986 was that way, but has been modified [Duraspark system]. My son has a 1984 which is has the feedback system, like yours, in that it is still stock.
