New guy with an '86 SuperCab

RacingFan
Hi all,
Picked up an '86 F150 SuperCab about a month ago. The body is rust-free and really straight, with only a few minor dings to smooth out before I repaint. Interior is also really nice. Going to reupholster the front seat, put carpet in (has vinyl right now), the typical refresh stuff to make it livable again.
It's a tan color right now but will be light and dark green when painted, as an homage to my dad's 1979 that I drove when I was in high school.

Excited to be here and gain some knowledge as I run into the inevitable problems!

Welcome!  Glad you joined.

Would you like to be on our map?  You can see it at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu, and we just need a city/state or zip to put you on.

Nice truck.  Should be a good one when you've gotten it sorted.

I am just around the corner at 27501 on the Angier Benson line NC.

On March 4 there is a show / cars & coffee at
MoJo's grill
2648 Timber Dr.
Garner NC

my calendar has 12 pm start but they have a winter & summer start hours and I dont know what the 12 pm one is. Might be able to find out on the web some where.
Be nice to see you and the truck there if you can make it. It seams I am the only 80's Ford that shows up at any show. And no it dose not need to be a show truck to show it.

Hey Dave, that sounds great! I'll definitely try to make it to the car show.
I lived at McGee's Crossroads for many years but drove to Cary for work. I put a lot of miles on back then!

I am checking with someone to see if they know the time they gather and will let you know but noon'ish sounds good too.
BTW if you eat from MoJo and tell them you are at the show you get a discount.
There is also a pizza place if you like that.
I think there is even a frozen yogurt store.

I have a FTE sticker dose that count
It would be nice to see you but I do understand it is a long trip for you.
When you where in Mt Airy did you see Andy or Aunt Bee? LOL
I have taken LP up there a few times from Apex.

Other than the pollen that my truck is covered in and it has been in the garage, all be it with the door open.
But yes looks to be good weather.

I ordered the last 3 from Machspeed. I doubt they'll be here in time for the show but hopefully there will be future get-togethers and I can give you guys one.

Good morning Dave and Mat! I have run into a bit of a problem for tomorrow. Last night I was tinkering around with the truck and broke my hood release cable, meaning I can't open my hood. Normally that wouldn't be a huge deal, but I have a loose wire that I haven't fixed yet and I can't start the truck without holding that wire while turning the key. Hence, I can't start my truck until I get the hood to open.
I'm going to work on it this evening after work but can't guarantee I'll get it in working order before tomorrow. As of right now, I'm probably going to have to play it safe and say I won't make it tomorrow.
I'd really like to have a Bullnose member get-together locally at some point, though, so let's stay in touch.
See you soon, I hope!
