Is that the one that you reworked?  Added and subtracted?

The center piece, of those three you see in the pic, was cut and a return welded on it. That piece normally runs all the way down the side to the tailgate.

Re: '83 build

Dash done now. On a side note ( remember this had dealer installed AC that was removed ) .  I have no ducting to the vents at the dash panel, you know one on each side. Anyone have a pic where this would have come from? What is in there now has no openings with nothing attached.

Dash looks great!  And the description of the altered trim is what I thought you said.

As for the A/C, go to the Integral A/C tab here (HVAC/HVAC Systems) and you can see the illustrations as well as some pics.  Does that help?

Re: '83 build

I'll look . .but I don't have AC, just wanting fresh air to the dash vents. The vents on the passenger side, I know there is nothing going to them, as they were added with the AC.

Re: '83 build

PetesPonies
So according to the schematic . . only deluxe got the air ducted to the dash vents? Is this true? You had two vents that just collected dust? No fresh air there? I do have the kick panels vents, I guess that is it? Just dust catchers?

With the base heater you wouldn't have the vents in the dash.

Meaning, a different surround without the actual vents?

Yes.  As you can see here (Interior/Instrument and Radio Bezels) there were different bezels for with and w/o integral A/C.  But that only does the driver's side.  There was also a different dash or dash panel for the passenger's side, and although I don't have a page for that, here's a snippet from the catalog:

Re: '83 build

PetesPonies
Right, I know the passenger side is different. Mine has the cut outs and the vents installed, since it was dealer installed AC, on the passenger side. I didn't think the instrument bezel was different though. OK, makes since now.

Looks good, but blurry.  I'm sure it is excellent, like everything else you are doing.  But, it is hard to tell.

Re: '83 build

Gary, I do 100 at the same time. So I split my time here and there. I'm waiting on the next customer Mustang, so I have some time to bust on my projects. I'm building this Bronco and an '83 Ranger, as well as my Esso Station at this time. I know how  I function drives some people crazy, but some of us like bouncing from one thing to another :)

I work several projects at a time, but always fear that I'll forget where I am on the ones on which I'm not working.

My father would have said "I'm laughing to keep from crying."  I can certainly relate to that.

A couple of days ago I went through my shop with a fine-toothed comb to find the 3rd 3G alternator I have.  No dice.  But, along the way I found lots of things I'd forgotten I have.
