Identification plate: Where does it go?

BigBrother-84
Hi folks!
Doing some cleaning on the "restoration workbench", found this plate that was obviously somewhere on the truck.
Any idea where to put it back?

That looks like a "buck" plate.  If so, it would have been near the windshield wiper motor.  Used while the cab was on a "buck" before dropping on the frame.  Has ID info.

Gary is right.  That is a called a "buck" tag.  Think of it like your truck's birth certificate.  It was originally installed on the edge of the cowl, near the middle.  You can see mine hanging in the picture below. I have since moved it to the far right side because I kept hitting it whenever I removed the air cleaner lid:

Thanks!

I'll clean it and put it back.

BTW, possible to post a pict pointing towards the radiator, showing how the fresh air duct connects to it?  I found a used "rad-adapter", but cannot figure out how the rectangular duct twists from the snorkel (horizontal) to this rad-connecter (vertical).

Thanks!

My parts trucks tag was above the HVAC box

IIRC there is also a tag on the front of the bed that should match I just dont have a picture of it but think I put it back on my bed when I built it.

As for the filter hose to radiator part the part dose the "twist".

Mine is a six but would think a v8 would be the same.
It also has a screw to hold it to the support if I remember but also has a bracket to something else just cant remember to where?

There were two buck tags on each truck, or at least there were on the ones that I've looked at. My '84 had it mounted over near the brake booster, partially tucked up under the cowl lip.

On the Flareside beds, I've found them on the passenger side front corner. See below.

Think thats where mine was and where I put it back if I remember.

I also think I used all the tags from the flare side so it matches and the others are in my parts bins

I have only found the one on my truck and it is located on the passenger side bed toward the bottom.

Corey - Don't forget the one on the radiator support.  I think that makes three.

Neither of my 2 80's (11/80 & 2/81) F100 trucks had them on the radiator support.

If the truck had it on the support did it have the one on the fire wall also?

Dave - The answer is yes, at least in Big Blue's case both his radiator support and cab had a buck tag.

Very interesting. I've not seen one on a rad support before, and I have looked at a few of them.

Sorry, I just saw this question from you.  I will get a picture for you today.

The accordion tubing is very flexible and easily bent by hand to make that turn.  I had the same concerns myself when I was putting the thermostatic air cleaner back together a few years ago.

Haha!  No problemo!  I do not plan to work on that before spring.  I have to "combine" three air boxes I found, each one having a well preserved part different than the others.  At the end, will obtain one very nice "as new" air box.
Too cold these times to play with that.

Thanks in advance for the picture!

Looking at Big Brother's restoration pictures, I found this one.
Mystery solved, mine goes just over the booster.  Similar as yours Gary!
Going to put it back there!
