"GodSmack" 1925 Model T sedan Street rod

Something a little different...my 1925 Model t sedan street rod build. Parameters, violence with a 60's drag vibe

Started with running..sort of .....driving....sort of stopping.... original model T all Henry steel and wood sedan i picked up on craigslist

original drivetrain and frame are going to be used for a speedster for the race of gentlemen, but that's a story for another day....nothing wasted lol

specs:
Original uncut body...no chop: 6" channel
2x3 home built frame
full cage
hair pins, 4" drop drilled beam in front
hair pins, custom width Currie 9" 31 spline, 3.98's with true trac
wilwood disc rear, speedway disc up front
350 sbc about 400hp
200r4 with all set up for strip
1930 Essexs head lights
rocket wheels
DOT drag slicks

Those headlights are HUGE! Wow, they really catch the attention.

But I'll show my ignorance - what are the "hair pins" of which you speak?

hair pins are the mounting links between the axles and frame, they resemble a ladies hair pin...other methods of locating the axles are: split bones or radius arms or link bars....all serve same purpose to locate the axles.....

i went hair pins for now but have a bad feeling i will need to 4 bar/link rear suspension.....i think im going to bend the hair pins even after i gusset them......build, break, repeat

Nice project. Theres a couple older gentlemen south of me that ride their Model Ts around on Saturdays. They arent chopped n dropped like yours but I always appreciate seeing them cruising around.

No chop on my car....too clean and wanted to honor Henry Ford's wishes...on case you didn't know Ts are are that tall so "gentlemen" did not have to remove their hats when the entered the car to drive, specifically top hats...

wood for the most part is done, started building cage, and it fought us all night....no real good progress there yet.

by doing wood ourselves saved over 1k and we made it better than 1925...higher speeds to worry about...

2 main hoops are done need to make all the braces and door bars ect...plumbing brakes tonight i hope

They make door bars that swing out just for door slammers.

Lil'Red is a '87 F250 HD, 4.10's, 1356 4x4, Zf-5, 3G, PMGR, Saginaw PS, desmogged with a Holley 80508 and Performer intake.
Too much other stuff to mention.

Yep, Cardboard Aided Design. Plan to do some of it myself today.

Anyway, it really is looking GOOD! That head-on shot is cool! Love those headlights. And the high roof.

i do both CAD designs..lol more profficient in cardboard...roof will look cooler when visor is on it, part of plan tonight is modify that so the fit and finish is better on that 90 year old visor.....

Yep, I do both as well. Have TurboCAD for the computer version - not the best choice, but it works for me and has let me make some 3D-printed things. But simple things like a backup/worklight for the truck go so much easier with cardboard.

That kayak is impressive! That's a big one.

As for the visor, it might not have originally been designed for blasts down the quarter mile?

Kayak looks like your kids would be quite proficient at press braking off road bumpers.

Do they get involved in fabricating projects like that for themselves?

yup, everything they make here they take home and our shops are always open to them...we've built cages rock sliders bumpers....ect right now one of my engineering students is working on ls motor mounts for a 55 buick that we will make

Grew up driving a '55 Buick Century. Would run 85 MPH all day long, but took its time getting there. However, if he's working on mounts I'm guessing he put an LS of some sort in it?
