A 1985 4.9L should use spring type hose clamps at all fuel line/hose connections. There isn't that much pressure with a mechanical fuel pump.

I've switched out some with worm type clamps on my 1981 as they last longer.

A set of pliers and a flat standard screwdriver should be all you need.

The Fuel filler hose for the front tank is part number E1TZ-9047-C .

There are hundreds of them available.

Ralph - The 85 4.9L trucks didn't get the new Nylon lines like the 460's did?  Big Blue came with all Nylon lines.

I believe that came with the hot fuel option and/or EFI trucks.

1985/1986  4.9L trucks were all conventional mechanical fuel pumps like their 1980-1984 cousins.
They also took a different sending unit as well:

1985-1986: F-150/350:  E5TZ-9275-G = 19 Gal midship tank, All 6 and 8 cylinder gas engines except 460. For use with Non EFI-Unleaded Gas Engines.

1985-1986: F-150/250: E5TZ-9275-H - 17 Gal midship tank. All 6 and 8 cylinder non EFI gas Engines, single tube.

1985-1986: F-150/350: E5TZ-9275-C - 19 Gal Rear Tank. All 6 and 8 cylinder except 460. For use with single tube (non-EFI) / Metal tank.

1985-1986: F-150/250: E5TZ-9275-J - 19 Gal rear tank.  6 cylinder 300, 8 cylinder 351 non-EFI gas engines with single tube / plastic tank.

I did a search and found this:

E5TZ-9275-C

My 85 4.9L has a plastic line from the midship tank.  I might consider bending new steel lines, as I'm kind of OCD about durability.  I'll be changing the rear tank out soon enough, so I'll get a better idea of what all Ford did on it.
