Ford Kentucky Plant Purchase Orders

Tarheel Blue
This was tucked into a deep corner of a rabbit hole I was traveling while searching for a part.
Not sure what it’s worth or even if it has anything to do with our trucks, other than a very interesting portion of history. You can touch each number and it brings up a hand written PO

I think it’s cool.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but it is interesting.

For instance, the next-to-last entry seems to show that in July of 85 someone bought nine 429's with 4bbl carbs set up for LPG for $1850.41 each.  Am I reading it correctly?

That’s the way I would have read that one.

I’ve opened quite a few of them, not paying attention to what the actual part is, and I can’t quite get may head around this assumed vision.

Someone, sitting at a desk gets word that the factory floor needs 5 more widgets, hand writes a purchase order to one of the multitude of suppliers and what, mails it off?
Hard to imagine that as late as the ‘80s a large manufacturer operated that way.

Or am I missing something?
