BLUE Lariat emblem.

salans7
In all of my years of messing with these trucks, I don't think I have ever run into a blue Lariat emblem.

Haha! I thought about it but already bought the Trailer Special emblem and don't really need this one. I'm glad it went to a good home!

That's neat!  Would have looked good on Big Blue.

It would have been a great option on trucks of certain colors that the red would clash with. But it still doesn't make sense because the MPC only shows the red version. I would love to know the application for this, and if it's even NOS or maybe it's a rare mistake and was produced by accident with the XLT blue lens.

How about reading us the ID # from the back of it and I’ll see if I can cross-ref it to a PN and then find the application?

Wow! I would think that’s the Camper Special emblem. At least I remember the Camper Special being blue.

Looks weird, but cool. It would look horrible on my tan truck, that hasn’t sold yet… hint, hint.

The 80-81 Camper Special emblems were red, like the Trailer Special emblems and the normal Lariat emblems.

The only blue emblems were the 1980-1981 XLT emblems.

There are no markings.

I am going to need another one for the other side!

Re: BLUE Lariat emblem.

Backside looks the same as my Trailer Special emblem. I'm sure the number is on the back underneath the adhesive, but yours probably would show the same engineering number as the red version. I strongly feel that yours was a mistake and somehow didn't end up in the garbage, or is some sort of prototype that never made it onto the actual trucks. This is the only one I've ever seen, so the likelihood of finding another is rare, but I'll keep my eyes open. She sure looks pretty in blue!

One thing that I find suspicious is the lack of locating pins on the backside.

I probably won’t use it, just keep it as a curio.
