Auto Trans Filters

Vic Roma
This might well be the dumb question of the day, but do our transmissions have filters, and is there reference to them in the parts catalog?

I can neither find an illustration, nor a line entry for it in the text, specifically 70.9B which I believe is my list for the 84 4x4 U150. Although it could also mean instead of a magnifying glass, I need a telescope. I am hoping it's just not in there.

Assuming you have a C6.

Edit: I see you have an AOD. That should be in there too.

Yes, the automatics have filters.

But I'm confused about the "70.9B" that you said is your parts list.  I can't find that parts list in the MPC, nor any mention of 70.9.  But I did find this table which shows the designations for each automatic tranny and I don't see a 70.9.  What am I missing?  What transmission are you working on?

I doubt you're missing something, 'tis I...

I took my reference from this page in Section 70 (see below).
There are 17 bolts securing the pan, so does this automatically make the trans a C6?
It does according to one website I read comparing C4/5/6.

Well, that might explain it.
