Take care of yourself. COVID has caught out far too many, it's no joke!

I hope your dentist has forgiven you before you get back to him.
Best wishes. . None of that is any fun.

Wow!  Those seats are wonderful!  I’d love to have a pair of those.

Bummer on the tooth and COVID!  Hope you get over COVID quickly with no long-term effects. (I still have shortness of breath at times.)  And I hope the tooth gets repaired easily.

Covid is no joke, this is my second stint. So far no issues other than severe flu symptoms. I am still in my 40’s with no health issues, so that helps.

My dentist is a trip! He saw me right away but had to refer me to an oral surgeon… long story, no mention of red bushings! 😂

I am so happy with the seats, the frames need a quick clean up, but that is nothing, cleaning the rest of the interior is the issue..

Lots of good progress though!

It was a bust. They couldn’t get to it today and it cost me $30 in Uber’s to drop off and pick up.

Kinda mad.

I got the alignment done on Friday. Here are the final numbers.

Before I comment on how Espy is driving, any thoughts on these alignment numbers?

I don't know enough about it to comment.  But I'm anxious to see what others think as well as how it drives.

Seems like they didn't touch anything except setting the toe a little negative.

I think you have bigger tires/rims and a little lift.
It's like they don't really know how steering effects a vehicle and they just left it at stock settings.

I imagine steering is a little slow and it wants to push.

BOOM!

You nailed it!

They said they only had to adjust the tire rod ends.

I have 17inch wheels and 33inch tires.

Steering is slow, not really self centering and I would say as you return to straight she is almost feeling too direct.

I wonder if the camber and caster should be adjust and what the impact of the steering damper is.

It all feels a bit strange. Better now I have some miles on it and I think all the new components are bedding in, but doesn’t feel right.

Re: 1982 Bronco 351 4x4 - Code name Esperanza

Yesterday the rods and jets arrived for the Edelbrock 1406.

I went to position 11 on the calibration chart which is 3 stages lean for power and cruise with orange springs and 1 stage lean on the secondaries I adjust the pump for minimum stroke.

So now I am running 14.5-15 in cruise and 12-13 in power but it is dipping to 16-17 I’m transition. Looks like I will adjust the pump to the middle hole then maybe the closet one for more fuel at tip in. I’ll do that before changing the springs.  Just happy to finally have her leaned up, she was at 10 at tip in before and 11 on power. So progress,

Today I moved Espy inside for the weekend so I can do some more work on her.

Change the passenger side window motor
Replace all the clips on the door trim
Vacuum out the heater/ac/blower chamber, air flow is pretty weak even with a newer fan/motor
Re lay the wires (using power from the stereo and so lots of high pitched interference, will run to the engine bay I guess) for the AFR and move the gauge so I can see it
Replace speed control cable so I can get cruise back
Some general cleaning too

Oh, and mess with the camber bushings, the positive camber is ridiculous as you can see from the alignment chart above.

Let’s see how much actually gets done..

Luka is hiding underneath, he just had surgery and he is liking the cold concrete floor..

TTB trucks do that crazy camber thing when you back them up. There's no avoiding it.

Ask Bill, Gary or any of us that have decades with these trucks.

I'd be very reluctant to mess with camber if the truck drives well and isn't badly scalloping tires.

This wasn’t from backing up, it is there all the time.
There is no way this much positive camber is a good thing and it isn’t driving great.

I have the moog 2 part bushings that Gary recommended so will try and dial out some of that camber.

I never said it was a good thing.
I said crazy camber when backing up is intrinsic to every TTB I've ever seen.

I spent big $$$ with my alignment guy last year and 30 years ago he told me there's nothing he can do about it in reverse.
I trusted his father, and I trust him to this day. He was practically born under an alignment rack.

Now, if you feel you have too much camber in regular driving perhaps there's a point in dialing some out, but big rims and wide tires aren't helping the cause any.

Appreciate the advice as always, gonna have a stab at it.

I don’t have a good alignment guy but I feel pretty confident I can make an improvement here.

Famous last words….

I did get to fixing some underhood wiring today. Installed some decent connections where cheap spades were previously, resoldered a dodgy joint and taped and tied stuff back up.

The new window motor is working well, lubed up the mech and guide too.

I want to pull the door trim tomorrow too, let’s see how the day goes.

I can tell you this. I have a little digital angle gauge for setting my woodworking tools (Wixey type 2)
It reads in 1/10 degree.
If I were going to try and adjust camber id cut a piece of ferrous metal that spanned across my rim (not touching the tire) and stick it on that so I could check progress.
Be sure to bounce the suspension/drive forward & back after letting the truck down off the jack after playing with the camber bushings.

Good luck!
