1980 F150e Ranger Electric Conversion

Interesting story...how's your German?

I follow this page on Instagram called Custom Garage Wippenham as they had posted some pics of a street rod similar to my 1952 Merc pickup. Looks like they're a custom shop in Austria.

https://custom-garage.at/

They posted some pics yesterday of what looks like an F150 with an electric conversion?

Funny thing is, I remember seeing this truck for sale a year or two ago. Looks like it was built and sold in Canada. I'm sure I posted it on here because I remember the wild blue paint job, but I can't find it.

Anyway, I did some digging around and found the following webpage detailing the conversion:

https://elektroautor-com.translate.goog/?_x_tr_sl=de&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US

The webpage will show part 3 at the top, but scroll down and you'll see parts 1 and 2 also. You might have to click upper right translate button...it seems a bit slow for me.

Happy reading! Lots of information there.

That's really interesting!  And while my German isn't very good, I was able to understand most of it.

Hadn't thought about other countries limiting the amount of HP you can stuff in a vehicle, but it does make sense.  And keeping it balanced is a good plan as well.  Plus, having the lighting system separate from the propulsion is also a good idea.

I like the graphics on that, although they are bit wild for me.

A company called Electric GT has been spending a lot of time converting Land Rovers and Porsches to electric, but they offer "crate" electric swaps and they even offer 4 cylinder, straight six, and V8 versions that are made to vaguely mimic those engine sizes so they don't just look like a massive box in the engine bay, as the above truck depicts.

Last year one of the larger shows our car club went to there was IIRC a Datsun 240Z that had a conversion and was for sale.
I dont remember how much but the car was ruff looking like a well used car, dont remember much on the electric side of it but think the range was not too good?
Think it was an older conversion.
