Unavailable parts

Recommended Posts

I feel as though I've scoured every corner of the internet as well as my town check the box stores. I can't seem to find a damn vacuum brake booster for The Cobra. I never thought that would be a difficult part to find. If any fellas have a link of one that's available or know where I should check I'd appreciate it. https://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-traction-control/brake-power-booster?filterByKeyWord=brake+booster&fromString=search&isIgnoreVehicle=false

Notes: W/o master cylinder, ***Please call MPA 800-228-9672 with your VIN number to verify the correct Brake Booster that fits your vehicle***. With vacuum booster

So what is the issue you have?

That was the first try with AZ have not tried any others.

You can also Google for a re-builder to have yours rebuilt.

Old car guys have to have this done all the time. That reminds me I need to look into getting my AMC Javelin one rebuilt.

Google search turned up this site for parts and rebuild service

https://harmonclassicbrakes.com/

They even have a listing for my Javelin :nabble_anim_jump:

I did check AutoZone as a last resort. They show having it, then when you add it to your cart, they say it's unavailable. I don't know maybe I'll try to have mine rebuilt.

It did have that "note" you need to call the number listed with your VIN to make sure it would fit.

I wonder if that is why it does not show in the basket?

I think I would call the number and see what they say and if you get the OK to go into AZ to order it.

Having yours rebuilt is a vary good option.

Keep us posted how you make out.

Are you looking under the year and model of the E350? it may be 1-2 years older than the year of the motorhome. It will probably be on the driver's door post under the striker and will say "incomplete vehicle manufactured by Ford Motor Company".

If you go to one of the Ford dealers that sell parts on-line (my choice is Auto Nation White Bear Lake Ford) you may be able to get a Ford PN that you can search for a cross reference on.

Everything I'm seeing says '85. Although there is an " 86" on the third lable toward the bottom right, not sure what that is for. I'll try the Vin search I suppose to see what I can come up with.

Here's what I have. Being told it's a R& R.

That's sending it in to A1 Cardone.

A1 Cardone part number is 54-73357

Ford part number is E4UZ-2005-C (obsolete)

So I've got nothing:nabble_smiley_argh:
