Looking for AC Compressor- BRACKET ONLY- Hang on Style 1976-1985 F-series

This is for my bullnose project.

Anyone out there, have you opted for HP, instead of AC? I'm looking for the York-style compressor. If you have a pic of the unit please send it or the info from the part's tag. I'd also be curious if it still has the pulley and clutch attached.

Thanks,

Thanks Dave. I found that was easier if the unit is priced right. I have my compressor now, but I'm in need of a bracket for a 351W, any ideas?

Sorry I dont but here is a bump so others will see it.

I also see you added the motor (351w) as that was something I was wondering.

Have you checked with aftermarket people to see what they have to offer?

Thanks for the Bump Dave,

I kindof figured on there being more people getting rid of the AC unit on their trucks, so I hadn't started searching for aftermarket yet. I'm open to suggestions I figured someone "getting rid of" a bracket would be cheaper, and OEM. But if you're thinking it will be a tough-find, I guess I should start looking.

My motor is a 300 straight six and Ford used think it was 3 different brackets between motor & compressor between pickups & vans, and 2 different compressors.

Vans used a different PS pump and why the 3rd bracket.

I am running the van PS pump as thats what my motor / truck came with.

I dont know if the 302 brackets will work on a 351 or not as the 351 is a little wider on the heads IIRC where some of the bolting points might be?

Then you have pulleys that are used with AC and maybe water pumps on the v8's?

Just something to keep in mind when looking for parts is all.

Some also say in might be easier to go with the later serp belt setup and brackets.

Good luck

Thanks again Dave. All good things to know. I'm wondering if fabrication might make an easier time of this modification. The guys in my area who I've seen on Craigslist, that have the "Hang on" AC, all have Big blocks, and I haven't been adventurous to try those brackets, as they are even more of a chance of not bolting on.

enjoy the weekend,

Does anyone know what the bracket would look like? I have a crate of brackets from a truck I got that the guy said a 351 came out of it.
