I have been looking at this forum for a while but hesitated to join because I am on so many for many different vehicle; I have owned over 60 vehicles and I am not a dealer, lol.

I just enjoy the Motorsports hobby, my main two loves have been the Mustang and Ford truck.

I currently own 2 bull nose, an areo, and a F250 light duty, which is a limited production truck that not many know of.

Looking forward to being here, i plant to keep my 84 bull forever because of circumstances that have occurred in my life which is why i decided to join, might as well learn all I can about it.

Welcome! Glad you joined! :nabble_anim_handshake:

Sounds like you have a bit of Ford experience. You'll fit right in. :nabble_smiley_wink:

Where's home? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we could add you if we had a city/state or zip.

On the F250 light duty I'll tell you what people tell me when I say that - no such thing. But Ford sold an F250HD, which as we know has greater than 8500 GVWR and 8-lug wheels, so why isn't the F250 under 8500 with 5-lug wheels a Light Duty? :nabble_smiley_evil: (Back when they issued phone books I was always looking for the Lesser Houston one. They gave the Greater Houston one, so where's the other one?)

Gary I am from Lewisport, KY 42351, a small town right on the Ohio river.

The F-250 light duty was manufactured in late 97, 98, and early 99.

They were Named the " Light Duty" by Ford when they wanted to introduce the new body style to the heavy duty market but did not want to alienate their loyal HD buyers.

I have the 5.4, heavy duty automatic, and 10.25 Sterling rear end, mine is 4x4.

The Light duty part is the 7 lugs wheels, the quickest way to identify one of these trucks.

I will post pictures later when I get a handle on the site's specifications for images.

Welcome John! :nabble_waving_orig:

I believe Gary is thinking of the 250's that Ford sold in the Bullnose era.

They were just big enough that they didn't fit with the 1/2 ton 150, though they could be had with a 302.

No, I'm sure he was asking about yours, and just didn't know about those transition trucks, where the over 8,500 gvw trucks kept the old body style into 97, had no '98 model and became the Superduty for '99.

Well, I thought you were talking about the light duty Bullnose F250's and didn't know there were 7-lug ones. :nabble_smiley_oh:

Anyway, you are on the map, John.

My M5OD-R2 trans came out of what I considered to be light duty F250. It was a 1991 F250 2wd with 302, 5spd, and 3.08 diff. I've told the story before, but the guy was doing a Cummins swap in the truck, so he had the engine and trans for sale...but since the truck was an F250, he had the trans listed for sale as a ZF5. He said people kept messaging him to tell him the trans he had was not a ZF5, so he relisted it as the M5OD, and that is when I found it...only a half a mile away from my office, right here in the industrial park.
