ArdWrknTrk
Don't miss Jim's recommendation to remote-mount the TFI. Ford had fits with them until they took them off the distributor and put them on the fender where it is cooler. https://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/electrical/1708-how-to-relocate-the-tfi-module-on-older-ford-efi-v8s/ http://fatfoxx.com/products.php http://www.mccullyracingmotors.com/index_files/products.htm
MarkThomas
Don't miss Jim's recommendation to remote-mount the TFI. Ford had fits with them until they took them off the distributor and put them on the fender where it is cooler. I like this particular re-location kit because it's a complete plug-n-play with little to no splicing: http://mccullyracingmotors.com/index_files/Page2271.htm I've been reading a few 5.0L forums on the PIP and it's apparently a shielded wire. I haven't crawled back under the hood yet because I can't get the truck in the garage and it's been terrible weather lately, but when I do it appears I'll need a shielded wire to replace the PIP wire to the firewall and the shielding must be grounded. I've purchased a replacement plug, I think I'll be buying the McCully Racing kit, and apparently I'll need some shielded wire to replace the PIP from the new plug to the firewall. Soon as the weather lets up I'll be giving this a go.

RustedJunk84
I like that Mk3 from MRM - you ever use that one? I remember back when I first got my 86 from my dad that. When you would drive down the road all of a sudden it would shut off. Found out that the ignition switch would roll back just enough that it would shut off all you had to do is tap it forward and it would keep going. So the contacts in ignition wasn’t holding right or something I just remember I wrapped a big zip tie around tie to hold it together. That was like 15 years ago
