New user with 1980 f250

Recommended Posts

Hello from Minnesota. My name is Kyle and I purchased a 1980 f250 custom with 4x4 351m and a manual granny 4 speed.

I found this site from searching on Google and Facebook forums recommending it.

The truck came from a junkyard and is extremely clean. Previous owners were in the middle of restoring it as a grad gift for his kid. The kid said he didn't want it so they got rid of it. The truck came with longtube headers on it but unfortunately they had some good sized holes in them. Im trying to find a new set of headers but nothing seems to fit this engine and drive train configuration. If anyone has any recommendations on a set that would be great.

Welcome Kyle! :nabble_waving_orig:

I'm afraid I don't know much about headers for an '80-'82 4wd with 335 series engine.

I do understand the frame changes from the '70's trucks might make headers for one of those impossible to fit.

Gary has a 400 in his Dad's Truck.

Maybe he has a better idea for you.

Hello, Kyle! And welcome. :nabble_anim_handshake:

What part of Minnesnowta? We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and could add you if we had a city or zip.

On the headers, I do have a 400 in Dad's truck, although I've not addressed the exhaust yet in my restoration. I think the guy to ask is Angelo, so I'll tag him and ask him to come. Maybe he knows.

I thought Angelo's beast was a '70's truck?

I know the frame and inner fenders changed a lot for 1980.

Part of this is why we can't run a front sump oil pan.

I think his truck is earlier but his father's is a Bullnose. Don't remember the engine in his father's, but thought it was an M-Block.

If we're talking about the '85, then no.

There were no 335 engines after 1982, when Ford brought back the 460.

Angelo's sig reads:

1979 F150 "410M"

1985 F250 (Dads) 351W

1995 F150 (1985 clip swapped) 300

1997 F250 HD 351W
