Im looking at using it on my '56 as well as my truck since I want to paint the floor body color and make it appear like bare metal. While looking I found the company that came out with this spray on insulation/sound deadner that Lizard Skin ripped off and they sell it at a fraction of the cost by the name of Cool Car Ceramic. When I looked it was $55/Gal vs Lizard Skin which is $90/Gal for insulation and $156/Gal for sound control. Cool Car Ceramic doesnt offer insulation/sound it is a all in one system. Researched this company but it seems like they only sell it in 5 Gal containers and cost is $400. Don't need that much. Spent a good deal of time yesterday reading up on spray in heat/sound insulators and the consensus is that Lizzard Skin is the best, albeit expensive. There is a price to pay for wanting the best I guess. The good thing is, a gallon each of the sound and heat component will do my truck. Will continue to research this. "Cool car ceramic is still available but it is now marketed as TC Ceramic and the marketing is geared towards industrial uses. It is the exact same product only it comes in 5 gallon buckets. My truck only had the vinyl mat and was very loud. It made a big difference. I put it in the doors as well. I will put it on the ceiling when I source some pillar trim and a headliner. Nicely done with the Kilmat. I have done the same to the doors on my 2 Bullnoses and intend on doing the floors at some point. Machspeed Posted January 7, 2021 Author Share Posted January 7, 2021 I'm going to suggest, John, that you take off the cab mount covers and make sure the mounts are free before greasing them (or similar) Spraying a coating on the cab floor is going to entomb them. So before you seal anything away it is worth looking behind door #2 to make certain all is well. I've given up trying to get my cab completely water tight. Jim, I bit the bullet and purchased the Lizzard Skin product. I've read so much good on it and wanted to play with it before I spray it in my Mustang. Im suggesting you have a look at those bolts and the boxed in cab mounts before you seal it up. If you've made it as far as having the floor prepped, then the cab mount covers are just two screws and a lick of seam sealant to remove. By spraying them down with cosmoline, BoShield or something else now you can sleep well knowing you've done all you could. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The product I ordered was their application kit, 1 Gal ceramic coating and 1 Gal sound deadening. That was not what I received through the distributor I ordered from. In discussion through chat, as I could not get anyone on a phone, it became somewhat argumentative about what I ordered. Moreover, I was not happy that I had to pay to send the stuff back. In the end, payed to have it sent back for refund. Indeed, it is expensive and after this experience, I may go a different route on my Mustang. So, looking at tanman's post above, web surfing and watching a couple Youtube vids, I took his route and went with the Kilmat. I was initially concerned about rust and the entrapment of water but I put down three coats of epoxy primer so I think I'm good there. The Kilmat is on order as I type this.
