Machspeed
Not sure how long this has been around but thought the idea was pretty cool. Can't pull the filter on my truck without making a mess. https://store.bettful.com/products/tool-1?fbclid=IwAR2M28u7ndVrT_GCPbzOpSC_ZGL_8B1NR1dtkFExjo0nfo5dX8QwQHMo2RE
grumpin
That’s slick! We used to make them out of scrap aluminum for aircraft. Not as flexible as these it looks like. On some aircraft you pull the drain plug and 12 quarts of hot oil would hit the nose wheel, and make a nice spray pattern, that took awhile to clean up! On some aircraft you pull the drain plug and 12 quarts of hot oil would hit the nose wheel, and make a nice spray pattern, that took awhile to clean up! That does look helpful. I know that with a 460 it is a pain to pull that filter.
ArdWrknTrk
Form-a-funnel has been a thing for a long time. You can get them on Amazon. Edit: I guess Amazon won't hotlink photos anymore?
kramttocs
That's a neat idea! I wonder about sewing magnets to it to hold it it in place?
salans7
That's a neat idea! I wonder about sewing magnets to it to hold it it in place? My Rangers have something similar from the factory, it's basically a little funnel that sits under the oil filter and whenever you remove the filter, the oil drains down the funnel and away from everything else. Definitely makes it a much cleaner job.

ctubutis
Putting the filter directly on top of the starter wasn't one of Ford's "better ideas" Same problem with he taurus sho engines, the filter is directly above the starter motor's electrical connections. Yamaha engineering, i guess
