Howdy 1986 f150 5.0 efi springtown TX

Either hook the pump to a battery or hook the harness to a test light.

Better yet, both!

Does the light stay on if you're engaging the starter?

Does it come on and go out if you just turn the key to run?

Does the pump continue to run if connected to ~12V directly?

Or does it simply energize and it is stuck? (gel, varnish, debris)

It's probably all of those things after see the state of the filter lol

Oh and yes sir it'll stay on. I disconnected the pump, stuck my multimeter leads on the harness side. Turn the key on. Shows power for half a second. Then goes off. When I crank it, power comes back and stay as long as I'm cranking it over. I believe everything electrical is working as it should. Except for the pump. I'll get a new one soon. they're fairly cheap. As well and cleaning both fuel tanks.
