Passenger side mirror

Recommended Posts

I'm having a bit of a time finding the passenger side mirror glass , or mirror for Brutus. I put the factory mirrors from the 88 parts truck on Brutus, and the first time we drove the truck Nick noticed it. The original mirrors on Brutus, they look the same as the ones on there now with the exception , they were painted black. The passenger side was what they called concave, or convex, not really sure, but its the mirror that has the sticker on it that says " Objects in mirror may be closer" The mirror from the parts truck and the ones that i find do not have this. Brutus having an 8ft bed has a horrible blind spot with the regular mirror. The parts truck, which used to run the roads " it was my truck" never had this issue, maybe because it was a 6ft bed, not sure, but it makes a real difference on Brutus.

Any ideas on where i can either get a mirror or glass. We tried to get the mirror glass out of Brutu's mirror, but did not end up very well.

Did you check LMC as I thought they listed the right mirror with or with out that type.

Now what I don't know is if that mirror head is the same as yours, some were rounded and others had sharp fold like corners.

My self I do not like that type of mirror as you cant judge the distance between you and ??? and even more so when pulling a trailer.

What I would do and need to on my truck, is get the small round ones and stick them in the upper outside corners of the 2 mirrors.

This way you can see something in that mirror and look in the big normal mirror to judge where it is.

Just my .02

If they're type 9 mirrors, I probably have a couple of extras...

It looks just like the regular old mirrors. If you do have one that you are willing to part with that would be awesome. Nick said he did check LMC, but does not see the sticker on it that says " Objects may appear closer" , but i will check again. In the meantime, if you do have one, i'd be happy to take it off your hands if you want to sell it. It looks exactly like this mirror, with the exception is the passenger side of course

I did in fact find them at LMC, i haven't ordered anything yet as i'm waiting on myrl883 to let me know if he may have one. Thanks for the links

I would avoid the aftermarket, repro mirrors. They are terrible compared to the original. They don't stay secured in place, they wobble/vibrate in the wind and they just plain suck. Original NOS ones show up now and again on Ebay.
