I've got to say my joinery has improved since I was a kid knocking together scrap on a jobsite, but not everybody is into dovetails or lock miters. Would you have a preference of wood? I need to poke around for some wider shorts with nice figure, like flame or fiddleback. You have to cut around that stuff when building cabinets. The console is 12" and 8" high. The 'front porch' is about 4.5 x 2.25" ETA: I've just realized it looks like a Jeep, if I had put one more cassette slot in. How I hadn't seen that before is beyond me. It will start right up like usual and has its normal fast idle for the first minute or so. But when warm, when idling in drive, the tach shows the idle speed at about 300-400 RPM and the engine has a slight shudder. It seems like the idle speed should be higher than that, and it should idle smoother. Since this started, I dialed the timing in as close as possible to 10 BTDC, replaced the plugs, cap and rotor, PCV, air filter and fuel filter. I also cleaned the carb and checked the vacuum, which is showing 20 in Hg, normal. Thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think there is a possibility that the tach reads 100-200 RPM too low, since I also hooked up a tach/ dwell meter when I first got the tach to work. I have not adjusted the idle speed up yet, because I didn't want to mess up anything computer controlled. Adjusting the curb idle speed should not affect the computer.
