JB - Welcome! Glad you joined. :nabble_anim_handshake:

How 'bout creating a signature that tells us about your truck, as well as your name if you don't mind. The details on the truck help up answer your questions more accurately, and the name just makes things more personal. Details on how to do that are in the Bullnose Forum/FAQ's.

And, would you mind if I added you to our map? Bullnose Forum/Member's map.

Hope you'll start a new thread in the main section to tell us what you are doing to your truck and to chronicle its progress.

Signature's done, thanks, Gary. And, you can add me to the map, if you like.

Ohhh!Another V-6, that's cool. :nabble_smiley_cool:Welcome to the forum JB! :nabble_anim_handshake:What do you have planned for The Betsy?
Hey, Ard!I'm not sure yet what the finished product will look like. I'm going to keep the original colors, but she'll get a new coat of sealant and full paint. The carb is for sh**, so that'll get cleaned and tuned. New vacuum hoses... Basically, all the common stuff a truck that's sat for years needs...love... and parts.

-There seems to be a few wires that aren't up to par (open circuits in the cold, but symptoms disappear when it warms a bit).

-She doesn't have much rust. The prior owner did a fairly good job of oiling the bottom and keeping paint on the surfaces. But this spring, we'll at least be applying some undercoating temporarily (to protect it while we get it unto a mechanically sound state).

-She runs a little rough (timing's off), and she whines when the throttle is relaxed, but the whine dies down with an open the throttle, so I'm thinking vacuum leak, but I'm not sure.

Once she's mechanically sound, we'll figure out how to make it shine. :nabble_smiley_beam:

This is our first project truck, as well as my second Ford, so it's a learning experience. I'll post some vids and pictures in a week or so to detail what we're working on, and where we're going with it.
