Tune up kit for those who are looking to get into mechanics

Recommended Posts

I pointed this out to Ethobling when he said he needed to start working on his new to him farm truck.

Heck I'd like to buy it for the 'cool' factor alone!

But space is tight and $ short, plus most items are redundant for me, so I'll put it out there.

Measure vacuum and fuel pressure, timing light, tach and dwell, amperage, voltage, test batteries, etc..

All in a vintage metal case. (nice to be organized, and lay your hands on things without rooting around)

I think it would be a great addition for someone looking to diagnose their truck.

None of us have points, so dwell is the only thing I can't see using, but the tach function would be real handy for someone trying to set fast or curb idle. :nabble_smiley_good:

I would love to have a distributor tester/machine, like the SUN machine below, but it's just one of those things that doesn't make any sense based on me having no space, and only one distributor to test.

They have popped up locally for more in the range of $400, probably needing some rehab work.

Maybe someday if I ever build another garage.

That is a cool kit! If I had the display space it would make a great addition, but I don't. And I'm spending big $'s on BB right now, with more to come. But that is both functional as well as cool.

As for the Sun machine, I'd love to have one of those also. But they take up LOTS of space in comparison to the Cal Tune kit, and I'm out of space.
