WHYDTYTT: What Have You Done To Your Truck Today?

Recommended Posts

One of my old 6.5" round speakers quit working finally that I had behind the seat so I bought some 6X9 speakers and boxes. It sounds quite a bit better than it did. Those 6.5" speakers my cousin gave me 4 of them brand new 12 years ago when they didn't fit his 96 F250. I got a lot of use out of those for free. Don't be too harsh on the home made speaker boxes, I cut those with a hand saw years ago out of some scrap plywood.

I also got my 2.5" diesel tailpipe yesterday and held it up in place, looks like its gonna line right up with the custom exhaust on the truck with just a short extension piece.

As some of you know, Janey and I are adventuring in Arkansas with Big Blue. Yesterday we traversed a very narrow trail for seemingly forever. So narrow the mirrors had to be folded in to clear the trees, and in one case the side step didn’t. :nabble_smiley_cry:

I’ll follow up with an adventure thread after the trip, but here are some pics. IMG_2112.thumb.jpeg.b120562b25bccb7a651202d546dc1f31.jpegIMG_2111.thumb.jpeg.e3b42cc2f2c3b74410170bfde3bfb694.jpegIMG_2104.thumb.jpeg.3db9b25dfd79ef3b93283c27cdd739e2.jpegIMG_2101.thumb.jpeg.8cd07290f01ad62791b9850a6c61421c.jpegIMG_2100.thumb.jpeg.b0da9457e12f72d6f11ea4d7e2af94f9.jpegIMG_2099.thumb.jpeg.7868087c6b3a35d43ebe8a09ad45dca3.jpegIMG_2095.thumb.jpeg.d52aa4cb843f4755e8b728646e507178.jpegIMG_2091.thumb.jpeg.91e851351901be3a92a47b1b410ae8c2.jpeg

There's just a random stump in the middle of the trail???

The other day I got tired of having no rear brakes (or parking brake) ordered some shoes on closeout from Rock Auto.

When I pulled the drums my Motorcraft shoes are thick as the new ones.  🤷‍♂️

I know that I replaced them when I had to replace the adjuster pawl cable that had worn through. The adjusters were free. I'm not sure what was going on, but they work now.

I also replaced the input seal of my steering box. Getting that snap ring out in situ had me cursing. The seal itself came out easy enough with a pan head self tapping screw and a forked trim removal tool as a pry bar.
