I wish I could have used epoxy self etch primer, but it just takes too much setup so this will be a backyard Rust-Oleum paint job using a $10 HF purple paint gun. I love those things! Oh! And I also LOVE ❤️ the little mag base Bauer LED light! Such a great help when welding deep in the crannies under the truck. Scott - Good to know. I got some dynatron on and scuffed Taiwan's finest in pre bent fenders. Maybe Dave knows what to do with a hard crease in a tight compound curve, when it's double walled.... I never took autobody, in fact I don't think I even have a body hammer. 🤔 Whatever. It's going to be good enough Probably better than the rest of the truck, anyhow. Also had hot slag (from rust) jump down my glove into my right index finger. You know that real hot scorch that turns all yellow around the perimeter? Yeah, THAT! It's certainly not my finest work.. 🤣 But it is 400% better than it was! Maybe things will stay dry now. Though I do find I should replace the cab mounts. I learned the hard way to make sure I'm not wearing anything synthetic while welding, and have the pants legs out of the boots. Don't ask. And I've had those scorches. They hurt for a loooooong time! I don't need any fancy polyurethane mounts. Just cheap and cheerful (serviceable) Wondering if anybody has suggestions, or ones to stay away from.
