WHYDTYTT: What Have You Done To Your Truck Today?

I mailed them the box July 30th, got a phone call from them Sept 6th for payment and received the box the next morning, yesterday. Not bad I'd day. I couldn't even get a hold of Delta cams and I only work a few miles from them.

My cam is from Delta. Scotty's specs. Wish I could have had a roller, but money was already tight, and rollers at that time were $500 for the BLANKS (Callies were the only thing available). I also got the notched lifters.

Added a new style of connector to electrical arsenal.. The factory style crimp connector. Worked out reasonably well. Added solder for good measure. Just used the harbor freight crimper.

These were going to plug into the inertia switch harness and replace it to cut off the fuel pump to prevent heat soak.... but I decided to not do that for now... I am able to relieve some of that heat soak by pumping the pedal about 5 times and relieving pressure off the bowl...

But I am encouraged by this style of connector to mimic the factory crimps... A few styles below

So, you drain the bowl immediately upon stopping, and it can evaporate over time instead of heating up and spilling over while the carb sits cooking in the hot engine bay?

Have you looked into the big aluminum heat reflector/radiator plates that fit on top of the spacer but under the carb?

I know that some other member had been using one to good effect.

The Edelbrock gasket I am using is really thick and a good insulator. It actually has improved the heat soak situation as well slightly but a complete fix is to turn off the fuel pump 20 seconds before stopping like on the Bronco... that completely eliminates it... the inertia switch actually carries all the current that the fuel pumps need so I am a bit reluctant to mess with that wiring with my plug-in cheap connectors and switches... I will look into what you suggested....

Received my eBay NOS stock air intake. I still need to find the stock flex tubing…

I found some of my old exhaust flex ductwork and rigged up something for now.. just need to find flex tubing.

Nothing wrong with it at all. But I think I have a part number for a duct that will work at home. Maybe I can find it tomorrow?
