reamer
Trying to get the studs out of the left side, very corroded down so had to grind the nuts off, but the studs snapped off in the cast iron, even after getting the cast red hot, But the nut/bolt combination on the right side are Brass colored, are they really brass? I guess I have to drill and tap the left side.... Left side has the add-on flap extension...
FuzzFace2
I have seen brass nuts but not studs. Dave ----
Steve83
After 33 years & who-knows-how-many owners, you could find anything. Instead of heating the manifold, try hammering on the side of the casting where the bolts are. It not only loosens the rust; it also stretches the Iron slightly, loosening the stud. Rembrant
Left side has the add-on flap extension... Ron, I believe I still have the flap valve from the left side of my exhaust, and it's a low mileage piece...only 30k on it. I'll check my parts bin at work and see if it's still there. I may have tossed it, but if it's still there you're welcome to it as a spare (if you don't already have 1 or 2...lol).
