FuzzFace2 Posted November 19, 2017 Share Posted November 19, 2017 This HVAC control panel will be the death of me I have 2 questions 1- what is the vacuum hose pin out of the control? I see you have one listed in the post on "vacuum heater vavle" but they are in line guessing the early control as I was told I have a later one and they are not in line. Number on valve: Motorcraft E1AH-190961-BA All the ports are open and are listed L>R as below. top row right side: 8, 9 1 row down: 3, 1 1 row down: 5 bottom: 2, 7, 6 2- I don't have the temp cable. Is this just for the AC box or can a non-AC cable be used as I have 2 from the 81 non-AC box? How long is it if I have to make/find one? Dave ---- Dave - I should have an extra vacuum harness. And, I may have the cable as well. It will make things sooooo much easier. I will look this afternoon. It is one of them things I am thinking of this part and once I know what I am looking for I can keep an eye open for the parts. It is also hard to hit the junk yards around here because of the hours I work and the hours they are open. Then they may not even have any thing that old to pick parts from. I thank you again Dave ---- Let me know what you need. I can easily get these things at the junkyard. And Gary is right. You really want the OEM vacuum harness with the thick rubber terminals that go on to tha vacuum motors. I think rubber hoses would stretch and leak and fall off after a while. They are conveniently color coded as to what goes where. I also noticed that the harness mounting posts are broken off of your switch. The harness plug is held on by those awful little sheet metal twist nuts like the turn signal lights and horn pad pieces. I broke both of them on my vacuum switch when I went to switch the harness plug, but luckily there was still enough of a stub that I could just get the nut twisted back on. If you want I could send you a vacuum switch with the harness attached? And yes, you definitely want the right heater cable that operates smoothly and has the plastic tab that mounts to the heater box. That is what the cable pulls against. That was broken on mine and the PO had a strange wad of rags and duct tape holding/jamming it in place 🙈 Dave I got your PM/e-mail (that's how this forum's PM system works) and I will hold off mailing the plug in in case you need other items I can send them all at once. -Jonathan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, I suggest you read a bit further before deciding. One reason is that if Jonathan is shipping you the connector already then it might keep the costs down if he were to ship you everything. But, that means he has to source the parts. And, then comes the question of what parts. If I were you I'd seriously consider going with a 1980-84 control. I did see that that but beggars can’t be choosers when it comes to parts for our trucks. Also till I know that vacuum switch can be swapped to the control I might be stuck with what I have as I also have duel tank panel with AC. I could also go with a manual valve if I was that worried. Dave ---- Dave, if you use one of the Chrysler ones, they do provide a circulating loop when "off" so you can close it and still have manifold heat.
