Things to have in working order before charging:

Damper door is functioning and closing completely.

Large volume shop fan blowing into condenser.

AC clutch on fan is functioning properly.

Or elec. Fans are functioning properly.

You have your current Air Temp and Relative Humidity Charts out and ready to check for proper low and high side pressures.

Have a method of holding rpms at 1800-2000 rpms while checking pressures.

You have evacuated all atmosphere and moisture from system.

This list assumes all components and seals are in perfect working order, and the correct type and volume of oil is loaded into system.
