Hello new users!

New guy. Mt Airy, NC Truck history includes a 70 F100, 84 Dodge W100, 92 Dodge Dakota, 2003 Nissan Frontier. THen a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country (best all around vehicle ever). And now an 81 F 150. HAve put deposit on; supposed to pick up on 3/17/2021. Started looking for parts and resources to make it good as possible. Wife has plans for it to startwork almost immediately. Solid truck - photos in photo gallery.

302 with 5 spd conversion - will have questions on identifying the trans when I can get more photos under truck. Conversion seems to be professionally done. Dude is providing $6k in reciepts from a trusted local garage for work done to this point. All work looks good, professional. Body is solid - no rust or bubbles.

Look forward to talking to you guys more and more.

Randy

Glad you've found us! :nabble_waving_orig:

The quick way to distinguish a Mazda M5R2 from a Zf is that the Zf has diagonal webbing on the outside of the case.

The Zf is a heavy-duty, but also clunkier, gearbox.

It was found behind 351's in F-250's.

While the Mazda was common to both Windsors and the inline 300 (which shares the bell housing bolt pattern.

thanks for the welcome. yes please add me to map.

And where can I find more on the Mazda trans? I do remember it had longitudinal ribbing, not diagonal. I've already found on the web that there are a few variations. I'll be looking it up. \

I doubt we'd ever two more than a landscape trailer or fill the bed with mulch (per the wife - hope she has a plan to get it OUT of my truck bed that doesn't involve ME.)

I assume the Mazda will be stout enough for regular half ton truck usage.

You are on the map. But I'll let others speak to the tranny question.

Good deal. I'll look at it more when truck gets to my house. Maybe ask more questions then. I'll need to pull wheels and chack brakes and all. And receipts to see what all has been done.

Hello!

My name is Russ... I dont have any Ford products except for a 302 in a Alumaweld boat...

The boat currently has an "Industrial" motor, 1993 vintage. I've had the heads off an they were F0JE castings. I havent had the block out of the boat. The cylinders looked pretty worn out when we did the top end on it so I've picked up a newer block out of a late 80's Mustang and the casting is an F7TE.

The plan is to have a local cam grinder grind me a marine roller cam for it, and do a 347cid build.

Here's the current motor.

pardon the bowtie wingnut...

It's all original except for a Sniper 2300 EFI controlling both timing and fuel.

I came here to ask many questions.

I also am the owner of a similar website for Diesel trucks of any make.

Welcome, Russ! Glad you joined. :nabble_anim_handshake:

Even though we are a Bullnose site, we do have people who don't have one of them, and even do have threads about non-Bullnose, and even non-Ford things. In fact, I think I have a thread about my Sea Ray on here. So, you are welcome to post about your boat. Maybe we can help, but I'm not sure I can.

However, I see that you are in Puyallup, WA. Would you like to be on our map? Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu.
